Why does this forum suck?

You misunderstand, sir. Most have banned the discussions because people either hijack the thread with irrelevant material, just simply flame people for their views, or are not able to talk about it seriously. Yes I agree, discussions can get rather heated; but you attack their position, not the poster personally. That is why it's banned.

I have never seen a discussion like that. Ofcourse occasionaly people hijack or flame, as happens here (nappy being a prime example), but mostly it is very reasonable discussion. I can understand when people don't want it simply because they want the forum to be friendly, but people will find reasons to flame anyway.

However, I have witnessed instances where slight ridicule was considered a flame and meant a ban. Moderators who felt that anything someone could even consider offensive should be silenced, things like that.

To a small extent i agree.

I actually think its highly unfair to say this forum sucks. I like the CC forum and i think there are a lot of decent people with worthwhile opinions posting a lot of the time.
Having said that i think some people could be monitored a bit better.
Occasionally forums dissolve into flaming or negativity which sometimes takes away from the heart of the thread in question.

Sometimes in these situations i wish the mods would just kick these peopke a bit. Having said that i have no doubt that i would end up being kicked every now and again.

My main point in my ramblins though is that the forum doesnt suck and if it did what are you all doing using it?

I never claimed it sucks, I just tried to kick mods into actually modding ><

but they don't read topics it seems

I think the reason is because noone includes the obligatory GFY option anymore in polls.
