What are your picks for the Stanley Cup Finals? Obviously I'm going with Detroit out of the West, but the East seems wide open. The Bruins fan in me has to say they will win it all but to quote Lewis Black: "I have thoughts, and that can really f**k up the faith thing.". I would have said Ottawa earlier, but they've struggled a bit. I think Philly and Jersey are teams to watch. Go Bruins!
I'm still expecting a Wings - Sens finals. Though now the Ducks are back, they'll be tough in the playoffs, and Philly will try to bully their way in.

I think the Ducks will take the West again - they are a strong team that is ridiculously confident with the return of Niedermayer and Selanne.
It's tough for me to pick a team from the East because I simply don't get to watch many games out here, but I think the Penguins will make a big run with Crosby's return. The Canadiens are the most solid team in the East, but are always overlooked in comparison to Ottawa. And it really wouldn't surprise me to see Washington go deep.

Twenty years from now, who do you think will be looked at as the better player? Crosby or Ovechkin? I personally think it will be Crosby based on what I have seen so far, and the fact that i think Sid will win a cup in Pittsburgh. Ultimately, great players have to win championships. What are your thoughts?

yeah, the wings played the avs last week and Budaj is the best goalie the avs have had since roy, although that's not really saying too much.Optimus Prime wrote:Big time Avs fan here.
Peter Budaj doesn't get nearly enough respect though.

I think it's Ovechkin myself. But I think others will remember Crosby, if just because he gets more media exposure, I think in part because he's Canadian (American North, how Canadians are frequently "thought of") rather than Russian.rhoges6 wrote:Twenty years from now, who do you think will be looked at as the better player? But if I were starting a team and had a choice? I'd go with Ovechkin.

I'm glad someone else realizes it. After "The Streak" to end last season I don't have any clue why Theodore is even playing......ugh.MR. No, no say it ain't so!! Roy of all people!! I guess we can't be friends anymoreI GOT SERVED wrote:That's me, a proud Avs fan. And I have to say, I'm a huge fan of Roy, namely because of that game.
Anyway, the Blackhawks are my guys so usually I'm relegated to rooting for another team within the division ever since they got rid of Belfour, Roenick & Chelios.
Serbia, I heard you were upset when FOX stopped broadcasting games with that little flourescent light beam on the puck so everyone could see it better.
