So you get a game with one deadbeat in it with a 1 hour limit. Suddenly that adds an unnecessary three hours onto the game. Assuming everybody else takes their turn in a timely manner that it takes an hour for them to play the game, that's a four hour game you're taking about, rather than a one hour one. Get another deadbeat in there and that turns into a seven hour game. Most people don't have the time or patience to sit at their computers for seven hours waiting for somebody to take their turn.ratkins76 wrote:sfhbballnut - I understand where you're coming from, what I meant is that we have another speed game option: 5 min goes, 1 hr goes, 24hr goes (or user defined delays up to 24 hrs).
If you don't want to play 1hr go games, then don't sign up for them. I'm not suggesting dropping the 5 min games. But not everyone can play games at that pace (be it work or whatever), but want something that is quicker than the 24 hour games where deadbeats really do slow things down to an absolute crawl!

Re: longer speed games
In heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine... You got your things, and I've got mine.

As far as scrapping the time limit goes, I'm incredibly in favour of it.
It was incredibly frustrating when creating 60 games for my speed tournament (unawares of the limit), sending out all the pm's, then having the games vanish
Scrapping the rule would also allow me to finally -RUN- that Need for Speed Tournament, which I'd really like to do.
With the rule, speed tourneys are not possible, Without it, they'd be difficult, but plausible.
I'd also like to see a delayed start option. Or a specified start time... Ie, you can create a game, and in creation, specify "Game starts at 5:00pm, sunday" then people can join at any time leading up to there, and at that time, if full, the game will start, or it will start any time after that when it is filled..

15 minutes.
+5 everytime someone joins.
I like this option or else a countdown (on the hosts screen) with an option to extend the time by 10 minutes. If the host is there and active they can keep pressing the button to keep the game listed. If they go off then it times out and gets dropped.
