I take exception to this website's claim that the number of pirates has been declining steadily for the past two hundred years. I can tell you from experience that this is not the case at all. We prefer to be called "legitimate businessmen" these days; however, this should not suggest that our membership has suffered or that our core business activities have changed.
I qoute from the FAQ from http://www.venganza.org
That is, as long as you do not use sword or some kind of weapon, you are not qualified as a pirate. Also, I realize that there are several sports teams named the "pirates", and that there are millions of music/software "pirates". But *real* pirates use swords.

Some believe there is a magical, invisible mysterious god who watches over us. These people are going to hell.
Others believe there is a magical, invisible mysterious flying spaghetti monster who watches over us. These people are going to heaven!
One is no more provable or believable than the other. Both have large dusty books filled with stories. Both have miracles. Hallelujah!
You just have to have FAITH and BELIEVE! He will not come to you...you must SEEK HIM OUT!

I actually prefer the term "Buccaneer-American."Jolly Roger wrote:I take exception to this website's claim that the number of pirates has been declining steadily for the past two hundred years. The Flying Spaghetti Monster is the preferred dish at the wedding of Eris Kallisti Discordia and J. R. "Bob" Dobbs. The FSM was glad to donate his tasty noodlyness to the nuptials.
