Okay who is ready for Going Down Under Take 2: Attack of the Koalas?!



My first tournament,Going Down Under,was a success so I decided to give this tournament thing another shot. The first time I went simple and it worked out nicely. This time I’m aiming for complicated fun!

I have decided to combine two ‘style’ of tournaments to create my Attack of the Koalas Tournament. There will be two parts to this tournament. Part 1 will consist of 4, 4 player games on Australia, but with 4 different settings. At the end points will be added up and a seeded Bracket 1v1 Part 2 will start. More on the points in a bit.

Part 1

First I will take 64 players and randomly assign them to 4 groups. Within a group there will be 16 players. Those 16 players will play 4, 4 player games together, and hopefully with random.org’s help they won’t play the same people all 4 games. Each group will rotate through the 4 settings assigned for this Tournament.

Sequential
No Fog

Round 1
Group 1 Escalating and Chained
Group 2 Escalating and Unlimited
Group 3 Flat Rate and Chained
Group 4 Flat Rate and Unlimited

Round 2
Group 1 Escalating and Unlimited
Group 2 Flat Rate and Chained
Group 3 Flat Rate and Unlimited
Group 4 Escalating and Chained

Round 3
Group 1 Flat Rate and Chained
Group 2 Flat Rate and Unlimited
Group 3 Escalating and Chained
Group 4 Escalating and Unlimited

Round 4
Group 1 Flat Rate and Unlimited
Group 2 Escalating and Chained
Group 3 Escalating and Unlimited
Group 4 Flat Rate and Chained

For each game played:
1st place 5 Koalas
2nd place 3 Koalas
3rd place 1 Koalas
4th place 0 Koalas


Part 2

Now at the end of Part 1 a seeded list, based on Number of Koalas, will be created. Seed 57-64 will be eliminated and will not play in Part 2. Seed 1-8 will receive a by for round 6.

All games in Part 2 will be:
Australia
Standard
Sequential
No Cards
Chained
No Fog


Now part 2 will be a 56 player seeded 1v1 bracket. In other words there will be 24 games in Round 5. The winners (24 people) will go on the Round 6 and 24 people will get eliminated.

Round 6 will have 16 games with 32 people (the top 8 seeds got a by in Round 5.) 16 winners will go on to Round 7, 16 will be eliminated.

Round 7 will have 8 games with 16 people. 8 winners will go on to Round 8, 8 will be eliminated.

Round 8 will have 4 games with 8 people. 4 winners will go on to Round 9, 4 will be eliminated.

Round 9 will have 2 games with 4 people. 2 winners will go on to Round 10, 2 will be eliminated.

Round 10, the final round, will have 1 game with 2 people. 1 will be the winner of the tournament the other, runner up.

Non-Premiums are welcome but please leave 1 spot open for this tournament.
