lol, republicans have become professional victims in 2024... 'we didn't do anything wrong' after proved to be a lie becomes 'we did this but it's not wrong' becomes 'we did this and it was wrong but it wasn't illegal' becomes 'we did this and it was wrong, and it would be illegal if any other citizen did it but this citizen is except because of their political position'.... all while somehow believing they hold some moral high ground. I know it's not your current leaders strong suit, but you guys should experiment with holding the people you vote for accountable to the standards you try to live by yourselves... in the long run it's easier than saying the ends justify the means so it's worth supporting a pedophile(Gaetz most recent example) if it helps get the laws i want passed.
as for mooksy railing against his opponents' claim to the rarely trammeled 'moral high ground'. He should look at the dems mountains if dirty laundry (Chappaquiddick, slavery, White Water, Monica's dress, etc.), which should also include all the recent legalistic shenanigans that have been thrown at their various enemies (Trump included) in the various kangaroo courts of both civic and criminal varieties.
Surely you don't believe a 2024 democrat is voting for slavery do you? Is 'but Dems supported slavery 200 years ago' the most relevant counter argument to someone suggesting your party elected a pedophile, and the removed it's own party's speaker solely because the pedophile wanted the ethics investigation to stop? Does the idea of asking leaders of your party to hold themselves to the standard of 'not being a pedophile' upset you generally? If it came out tomorrow that Ketanji Brown Jackson had received $2 million dollars in cash from George Soros in exchange for attending a 'conference' for a week on a private hawaiian island, I would be calling for her resignation... can you seriously sit there and say you wouldn't? I don't know if 'mainstream' democrats in congress would support calling for her resignation but I certainly wouldn't vote for them if they didn't. Yet, I only ever hear people on your side defend their position by attacking how bad the opposition is. It's never 'Trumps action were horrible, but he's apologized and weve forgiven him and will continue moving forward', instead it's always...
'I didn't do anything wrong' after proved to be a lie becomes 'I did this but it's not wrong' becomes 'I did this and it was wrong but it wasn't illegal' becomes 'I did this and it was wrong, and it would be illegal if any other citizen but not for me because I was president and this is all a witch-hunt, kangaroo courts i say, I'll help overthrow the goverment if i lose the next election"
Why is that? Can you answer with it involving 'cus democrats bad', 'socialism, deepstate, shenanigans', cus that would be something I'd actually love to read. Something that is actually about the behaviors you put up with from your leaders rather than deny everything, other side is also bad.
