2010-02-19 15:39:16 - FarangDemon: I'm happy to face such esteemed opponents on the field of battle.
2010-02-19 17:01:11 - ballenus: Hi, we will do our best but I think I'd like it more if cards were hidden and I could make you believe I have a four of kind.
2010-02-19 17:05:50 - ballenus: If my assessment is correct, when you take 4 cards, you have roughly 50% to have a pair. So you having two pairs and we noon is 6%?
2010-02-19 17:06:28 - ballenus: and the likelihood to hit 3 neutrals and then three yours is 30% hmmm
2010-02-20 00:44:43 - Wild_Tiger: your assessment is incorrect, sorry.
2010-02-20 00:44:57 - Wild_Tiger: you should redo your math :)
2010-02-20 00:45:47 - Wild_Tiger: oh I thought with cards (spoils) now I understand with poker hand lol
2010-02-20 00:48:03 - Wild_Tiger: 1 card = 3 outs 2 cards = 6 outs 3 cards = 9 outs I think roughly 40% with just using poker theory. don't feel like calculating it really :)
2010-02-21 14:27:45 - steve066: have fun and lets hear from farang on odds
2010-02-21 14:28:11 - steve066: -- i recall he is math teacher?
2010-02-21 14:32:35 - steve066: 4x3= 2x3
2010-02-21 14:33:24 - steve066: -- 7x6 = 3x6
2010-02-21 14:34:03 - steve066: lost 6 killed 3
2010-02-21 14:34:15 - steve066: oh momma
2010-02-21 14:35:04 - steve066: with no spoils ........................
2010-02-21 17:55:06 - ballenus: as regards the pair, if I'm not wrong the odds of not having any is [(32*28*24*16)/(4*3*2)]/[[32*31*30*29]/(4*3*2)]
2010-02-21 17:56:17 - ballenus: no pair : 32 possibility for the first card, 28 for the second, 24 for the third, and 20 (not 16) for the last one.
2010-02-21 17:58:20 - ballenus: = 28x24x20 / (31 * 30 * 29)=49,83%
2010-02-21 17:59:56 - ballenus: but I really see no hope for us on this one...
2010-02-22 14:48:38 - FarangDemon: i'm embarassed to have made such a mistake in front of such an esteemed bunch... :)
2010-02-22 14:50:54 - FarangDemon: ah so you are referring to this map... there are 32 start locations, then?
2010-02-22 18:12:34 - ballenus: unless you have kept some aces in your pockets, there should be 32!
2010-02-23 14:48:17 - FarangDemon: I think there are only 16 start locations
2010-02-23 15:01:24 - FarangDemon: dice willing, i'm about to spill some milk
