Standard |
In a standard game each player fends for himself and there is only one winner. |
Manual |
With manual initial troops, each region is initially populated with 1 troop and during the first round of the game players deploy the rest wherever they see fit. During this first round, you cannot see your opponents' deployments and all players can play simultaneously. |
Freestyle |
In a freestyle game it doesn't matter in which order players take their turns. Players can even play simultaneously! After the last player takes his turn, a new round begins immediately. |
Escalating |
At the end of your turn if you have conquered at least one region you get 'spoils.' Once you have three of the same color (or three different) these can be traded in at the start of your turn for bonus troops. Escalating Spoils indicates that each set traded in will be worth more than the previous. The first set is worth 4 bonus troops. Then 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25 etc. If you own any of the regions that you trade in you get two bonus troops on those regions. |
Unlimited |
At the end of your turn you can reinforce as many times as you like between regions that are connected. |
Yes |
Fog of War masks enemy positions that are not adjacent to your forces (or your team's forces). It also masks region and zone names in the log |
No |
You can only assault from regions held since the start of your turn. If you conquer a region during your turn you cannot assault from it until your next turn. |
None |
|
24 Hours |
Each player has up to 24 hours to complete a turn. You will get an email notification when it is your turn to play. |

2009-12-18 04:16:21 - e chip: lol, I happen to think Fog brings a new dimension to the game
2009-12-18 04:20:39 - e chip: just wondering, how do you turn sets in? I'm new to the way Risk is played on this site
2009-12-18 07:07:13 - MartinRiggs: one of each color, or 3 of 1 color, look in the rules for the turn in rate
2009-12-18 07:07:56 - MartinRiggs: now please dont wipe me out, ya allready killed me enuf
2009-12-18 14:55:32 - e chip: So I'm supposed to let you stockpile troops on my borders for a possible counter-attack?

2009-12-19 04:16:23 - MartinRiggs: take yer fuckin card and stop youre unwarrented vendetta against me
2009-12-19 04:19:10 - e chip: errr...isn't this a war game..? Isn't it the point of this game to defeat everyone else?
2009-12-19 04:21:19 - MartinRiggs: not to sacrafice yerself in the process, Mr. tell me how the cards work
2009-12-19 04:22:32 - MartinRiggs: this is yer second game man
2009-12-19 04:22:56 - e chip: Simple; when you have a set of 3 cards of the same color (or one of each), a menu pops up at the start of your turn
2009-12-19 04:23:14 - e chip: and then from there you select what you want to trade in
2009-12-19 04:23:27 - e chip: and this isn't my second game of risk, far from it. Second on this site.
2009-12-19 04:25:43 - e chip: Or you can use them as a bonus, when you're attacking a place, the card gives you a higher chance of winning
2009-12-19 04:25:59 - e chip: I havn't used them on this site, but in the board game, it allows you to roll again
2009-12-19 04:26:09 - MartinRiggs: you were the one asking us how to turn in cards, jeeez sorry for losing my temper, it's the fog
2009-12-19 04:27:15 - MartinRiggs: you must be playing a different form of risk than the on i've played for 25 years
2009-12-19 04:28:12 - MartinRiggs: on the classic board game cards are for turning in, and a bonus if you own the territory on the card
2009-12-19 04:29:55 - MartinRiggs: you do not get a higher chance of winning
2009-12-19 04:31:12 - e chip: Well, I've been playing for 6 months with the same group of people, so its possible that we use unofficial rules
2009-12-19 04:32:12 - e chip: hell, we don't even use the mission cards
2009-12-19 04:47:06 - MartinRiggs: if this was youre first on-line arguement in this game then i'm proud to have been your antaganist lol
