2009-12-11 17:05:33 - Chuuuuck: you may disagree with the logic, but that is how i see it
2009-12-11 18:08:38 - Lubawski: 2009-12-11 14:08:18 - Lubawski [team]: whoops. That damn check box needs to be off far away from my typing I think. I can't get it right either way
2009-12-12 02:15:02 - khazalid: ayehuuuck thats how it goes c
2009-12-12 02:15:24 - khazalid: lol dunno what happened there... one bottle of good qual port later sorta thing
2009-12-12 19:01:27 - Chuuuuck: gg
2009-12-12 19:44:33 - khazalid: gg

2009-12-12 22:21:31 - AAFitz: I actually would have to admit that nearly any map is a coin toss to some degree, its more that on this one, there is virtually no way to win after going second on this one, against any team with any clue. That being said, a coin toss is a coin toss....
2009-12-12 22:22:29 - AAFitz: If youre willing to take the risk, than I have no problem with that. Pretending we had a chance however, well...that would just be silly.
2009-12-12 22:23:20 - AAFitz: Myself, I dont blame you for posting this one...quite frankly, youd be crazy not to take as many coin flips as you can.
2009-12-12 22:59:13 - endar1077: hah!
2009-12-12 23:03:27 - endar1077: that last statement was a nice show of confidence in your clan's superiority, but I wouldn't get too comfortable, lol
2009-12-12 23:04:09 - endar1077: anyway, i'm inclined to agree with lubawski here
2009-12-12 23:04:44 - endar1077: yes, there is a huge advantage to going first, and in this case it was compounded by us having better bases
2009-12-12 23:05:37 - endar1077: so it is worth noting that this game was espescially slanted
2009-12-12 23:05:42 - endar1077: that is not always the case
2009-12-12 23:06:05 - endar1077: secondly, there are definitely things that the second team can do to switch up the normal play of the game,
2009-12-12 23:06:32 - endar1077: sure - if you play it out formulaically, the first team wins
2009-12-12 23:06:45 - endar1077: so then why do that?
2009-12-12 23:06:57 - endar1077: you guys could have gotten creative, but you didn't
2009-12-12 23:10:36 - endar1077: for instance, after i eliminated khaz, fitz could have gone directly for lubawski to get the double turn
2009-12-12 23:11:26 - endar1077: in this case, the chances were probably extremeley small given that you had crappy bases for attacking, but you can see how it might work in a different game, and why not give it a shot even if the odds are slim?
2009-12-12 23:11:44 - endar1077: better than sitting here playing it out like you are, trading one player for another
2009-12-12 23:13:59 - endar1077: like i said, though, it is hard to make that point in this game because in addition to going second, you had a bad drop, and i think also crappier dice
2009-12-12 23:14:16 - endar1077: but i disagree with this coin-flip business
2009-12-12 23:15:10 - endar1077: fitz was right when he said that "any map is a coin toss to some degree"
2009-12-12 23:15:57 - endar1077: the tuth is that when you get really good players together on both sides of any map, there'll be something close to 50% chance of each team winning
2009-12-12 23:16:16 - endar1077: so what the hell is this elitism about?
2009-12-12 23:17:51 - endar1077: anyway, that's my two cents
2009-12-12 23:19:09 - endar1077: the last thing that i would mention is that it is not particularly good form to join an away game and immediately start complaining about the map/settings
2009-12-12 23:19:33 - endar1077: if it was done in a purely light-heart, jovial, jesting sort of a way, that would be another story
2009-12-12 23:20:05 - endar1077: but i don't think your comments were very well recieved on this end because they came across as belittling and insulting
2009-12-12 23:20:36 - endar1077: i'm sure that's not what you intended, but that's what came across
2009-12-12 23:30:59 - endar1077: oh yeah, and after this game I'll be 7/8 for city mogul trips, going first in exactly half of them
2009-12-13 00:35:14 - khazalid: jeesh
2009-12-13 00:35:22 - khazalid: well, it was nicely put
2009-12-13 00:35:56 - khazalid: all i was saying was why not make it foggy, esp since you guys are obviously very proficient on this one..
2009-12-13 00:36:52 - khazalid: don't mind inc, his dice have been pretty crazy these last few weeks
2009-12-13 00:38:02 - khazalid: so yeah.. we had no chance, and if the drop and turn were reversed neither would you guys have had. but it's a compliment in itself because it was pretty apparent that you weren't going to take the foot off
2009-12-13 00:39:04 - khazalid: so like, wp/peace
2009-12-13 00:42:15 - Lubawski: your drop really did make this a loss for you guys. I know without more times played to show you that 2nd turn can win, it's hard to take it on faith. Check out any of our trips games. You'll see we've played quality opponents who knew what they were
2009-12-13 00:43:15 - Lubawski: doing. Why not make it foggy? Quite simply, we have a winning strategy for 1st or 2nd turn in sunny. Foggy, there is a certain element of luck in looking for the bases (if you are playing intelligent people who can mask their forts--really easy in
2009-12-13 00:44:17 - Lubawski: unlimited forts. So what would happen is we would have a stand-off, no one wanting to be the first ones out. Get's kind of boring. There are also more options to get creative in foggy (it's actually almost an advantage to go 2nd there).
2009-12-13 00:44:42 - Lubawski: Anyway, good game. We'll be sure to always throw this one at you guys...so practice up.
2009-12-13 00:56:50 - endar1077: :)
2009-12-13 00:57:02 - endar1077: well thanks for taking my own little rant well ;-)
2009-12-13 00:57:08 - khazalid: hehe i've won going second a few times myself, i know it's not impossible
2009-12-13 00:57:27 - khazalid: next one will be ours! until then
2009-12-13 00:59:13 - endar1077: i'm glad this little bit of tension didn't grow into a real conflict, as can sometimes happen
