2009-08-25 01:47:12 - Chariot of Fire: cheers Incan, likewise
2009-08-25 05:46:37 - AndrewB: hi all and gl
2009-08-27 16:29:33 - Daryth: gl
2009-08-28 05:49:36 - Chariot of Fire: stupid dropdown menu :-(
2009-08-28 06:10:42 - Incandenza: I was wondering about that...
2009-08-30 17:35:58 - AndrewB: it looks like chariot just had the decisive turn with losing 0 and taking 6...
2009-08-31 10:29:45 - Chariot of Fire: followed by losing 6
2009-09-03 02:21:26 - AndrewB: what a bull
2009-09-04 01:15:49 - Incandenza: damn, that'll do it, what a horrific kick in the balls, figured we had you guys beat in both these games... I'm going to go sob quietly in a corner now
2009-09-04 01:16:12 - Incandenza: gg fellas... now go win this damn tourney so we can at least salvage a bit of pride by saying that we lost to the eventual champs
2009-09-04 01:46:44 - Chariot of Fire: strewth, usual dodgy dice at the end there - 7 cdnt beat a 1 lol.
2009-09-04 01:49:18 - Chariot of Fire: D & I had written this tourney off after the opening sequence of moves in the 3 games. City Mogul was a non-starter for us, Feudal looked grim, esp as I held Realm of Shite n cdnt take 6 kingdom terrs (so eventually yr numbers wd stack up).......
2009-09-04 01:51:50 - Chariot of Fire: ......n then this game....wow. U did let us back in tho. I know I had a 6-0 but that was followed next round by 1-7
2009-09-04 01:54:47 - Chariot of Fire: U did make some errors tho (if I may be so bold). Whilst I let green get to the point of elimination (n boosted my own terr count) u guys kept hovering around 11 terrs n making individual attacks rather than stacking 1 of u.
2009-09-04 01:56:19 - Chariot of Fire: And in Feudal - whilst I appreciate u got lousy dice Incan when hitting back at green - I think u had to risk dividing yr attack n taking 2 castles, even tho it meant gambling thru strings of 2s. Those auto-deploys saved our bacon in the end.
2009-09-04 01:58:13 - Chariot of Fire: but yeah, thanks. We'll obviously do what we can to go on and win. We're a bit gutted we're not meeting pi & pie in the final - wd hv been a nice needle match as we're ex-LoW. V.colorful language from pi in his games, have a look lol.
2009-09-04 01:59:11 - Chariot of Fire: but then in City Mogul he attacked via a $ on his very first turn so was inviting disaster imo.
2009-09-04 03:04:52 - AndrewB: constructive criticism is always welcomed in my book, thanks for the feedback!
2009-09-05 00:54:55 - Incandenza: I see your point, but I'm not sure you realize quite how damaging your first 6-0 run was to us... plus letting Daryth get that weak was pretty damn risky
2009-09-05 00:55:43 - Incandenza: tho you were behind at the time and had to swing for the fences...
2009-09-05 00:56:29 - Incandenza: but I'll be the first to admit that you guys outfought us here, which is a gigantic bummer since I could taste the damn finals (and one of these days I'm going to win a bloody tourney)
2009-09-05 02:06:03 - Chariot of Fire: I think your record of never having won a tourney makes you rather special and unique. Having a record of 1 win looks a bit sad. At least at present you can pretend never to have entered any :-)
2009-09-05 02:07:56 - Chariot of Fire: Realize that 6-0 of mine was huge at the time. Had the dice not gone that way for me then it would have been irretrievable - you guys had so many cities w/Baathists. This map is interesting coz one can play it a few ways.
2009-09-05 02:10:13 - Chariot of Fire: There's the 'get a Baathist' approach which u guys adopted, and a 'clear a city' tactic which we went for. I always try to clear a city holding Baathists, but leave the Baathist alone n go for the same oppo in any neighbouring areas so he can't ........
2009-09-05 02:11:39 - Chariot of Fire: .......easily recover the city. That makes hitting the city I took awkward for the oppo's team mate as obviously he doesn't want to hit it coz his partner's on Baathists. That's how I look to play this map anyway, n it leads towards a good terr count
2009-09-05 02:20:32 - Daryth: gg guys
2009-09-05 03:44:19 - Incandenza: I tend to concentrate on areas, grabbing baathists is usually just a means to an end... my thinking is, if I (or my teammate) can spend most of the game in control of anbar province and the southern cities, we're in business...
2009-09-05 03:44:50 - Incandenza: it is a great map, I still feel like I have a bit to learn still, and I've played something like 25 games on it
2009-09-05 03:45:10 - Incandenza: anyway, worth saying again, gl in the finals
2009-09-05 04:06:36 - Chariot of Fire: yep, wd hv to agree with you. The southern cities once taken are a bugger to break (they take you away from the main arena), and Anbar Province is the key territory. Eat Ratshit (as I call it) is also handy in Baghdad, tho not when Karbala City is neut.
2009-09-05 04:09:19 - Chariot of Fire: and thx for the gl wishes :-) Always a pleasure playing you guys
