2009-05-17 07:13:08 - DIBS: gl all :)
2009-05-18 22:20:25 - Peter Gibbons: good luck
2009-05-19 16:19:17 - phantomzero: u2
2009-05-26 17:00:12 - DIBS: Hey Blue....red has 18, 18 & 22 in defense......looks like his game
2009-05-26 17:12:12 - Peter Gibbons: hey green... A) how about not giving away troop strength in fog
2009-05-26 17:12:27 - Peter Gibbons: and B) do you see everything blue has? no... didn't think so
2009-05-26 17:19:04 - DIBS: There's nothing wrong with what I did.....
2009-05-26 17:20:11 - DIBS: It's fair tactics to form alliances(which I have never done).....
2009-05-26 17:20:56 - Peter Gibbons: fair to give away troop strengths in fog??
2009-05-26 17:21:07 - Peter Gibbons: people have different interpretations about what fog rules should be
2009-05-26 17:21:23 - Peter Gibbons: but I've never met anyone who thinks it is fair to give away troop numbers
2009-05-26 17:21:29 - Peter Gibbons: what's the point of fog if you do that??
2009-05-26 17:21:39 - DIBS: The objective is to win the game.........your not going to lose this ne anyway.....I don't see the problem
2009-05-26 17:23:05 - DIBS: Fog is a situation on the board.....just like any other. If one player is dominating......letting the other players(s) know about it is just good tactics.
2009-05-26 17:24:09 - DIBS: .....unless you go and panic or something like that.
2009-05-26 17:25:05 - Peter Gibbons: the objective of any game is to win... that's a pretty sophomoric answer... but what is the point of playing a game with fog? you're not going to win this argument... it's one thing to form an alliance, which is fine....
2009-05-26 17:25:15 - Peter Gibbons: but you won't find many people who think it's ok to give away troop strengths
2009-05-26 17:26:45 - DIBS: Now that I find weird......it's OK to join forces with another player and gang up on somebody......but not OK to simply share some information? BTW, that info could be false(which is another tactic of fog).
2009-05-26 17:29:09 - phantomzero: wow, maybe I should stay out of this one! ;)
2009-05-26 17:29:51 - phantomzero: I don't agree with giving away troop numbers, it's obvious enough from the deployment logs who has the most troops
2009-05-26 17:30:27 - phantomzero: now you two are fairly even with a deploy of 12 each last turn
2009-05-26 17:30:30 - Peter Gibbons: it wouldn't be "ganging" up... if two players read the log and both realize another person is winning, then it makes sense... but giving away numbers crosses a line that seems to have been established on this site... I wish there were written rules for
2009-05-26 17:30:34 - Peter Gibbons: fog, actually
2009-05-26 17:32:42 - phantomzero: yeah, that's why I attacked you the last few rounds you were getting a huge deploy
2009-05-26 17:33:32 - phantomzero: I find the problem is more to do with 3-4 player games where there can be many truces and gang-ups
2009-05-26 17:38:12 - Peter Gibbons: well that didn't go well
2009-05-26 17:40:06 - DIBS: I've never come across that line till now......honestly it makes no sense to me that in a 'tactical' game one doesn't play to all tactics available.
2009-05-26 17:40:42 - DIBS: If I knew it would have offended.....I certainly wouldn't have done it if it was agreed on at the start.
2009-05-26 20:37:22 - phantomzero: i see that you have only played 396 games DIBS. You have done very well in a short number of games. There has been much talk in he forums about how reveiling positions in the fog can be considered unsportsmanlike
2009-05-27 00:20:54 - DIBS: I really had no idea.....and think I'll curb my coments in the future.
2009-05-27 00:21:20 - DIBS: Instead of listing the numbers.....I could instead have typed something like.....
2009-05-27 00:22:21 - DIBS: "I am pulling a chunk of my defenses from your border Blue because I need them to contain Reds hordes."
2009-05-27 00:24:18 - DIBS: I really don't see the difference.....but if people are going to take offense at listing numbers....I'll change :)
2009-05-27 00:37:19 - phantomzero: DIBS - That would make most people happy on CC. there a bunch that don't like and diplomacy, but that is part of this game
2009-05-27 01:46:03 - Peter Gibbons: to be perfectly honest, I agree with you in principle green
2009-05-27 01:46:12 - Peter Gibbons: I used to act exactly like you
2009-05-27 01:46:29 - Peter Gibbons: but people on this site seem to agree that giving army numbers is against the point of fog
2009-05-27 01:46:49 - Peter Gibbons: I really wish there was a separate set of distinct rules listed for fog--would make things go a lot smoother
2009-05-27 01:49:39 - Peter Gibbons: anyway, good game blue
2009-05-27 01:49:42 - Peter Gibbons: and good game green
2009-05-27 01:49:49 - Peter Gibbons: these games have been fun--I will likely set up a lot more soon
2009-05-27 02:12:31 - DIBS: Thanks Red(and Blue).....I too have enjoyed the games against you guys :)
