2020-01-18 19:28:19 - random21: will play for a bit. but lets make the most of each game. ask questions you want answered, give me a suggestion of the tips you want me to give you
2020-01-18 19:28:30 - random21: wins against you i will maybe 3-6 points per game
2020-01-18 19:28:40 - random21: as soon as i lose against you, ill lose like 50 points.
2020-01-18 19:29:47 - random21: and these arent particularly difficult settings to win on, in end, score is not the be all end all for me. as long as we have exciting games. but i dont know if im wanting to risk losing 200 points.
2020-01-19 01:00:00 - Obi*Wan: TY for your willingness to continue teaching me. I will do my best to make the most of this game & also ask questions I need answered. I hadn't realized you would lose that many pts. I appreciate your interest in helping a newcomer like me.
2020-01-19 01:00:59 - random21: yup go ahead
2020-01-19 01:01:00 - Obi*Wan: I am going to take my time with each turn to try to make sure I make the optimal moves and know the routes better.
2020-01-19 03:18:23 - random21: sure, gl hf
2020-01-19 03:18:43 - random21: ill be as honest as i can if you want to discuss your options
2020-01-19 07:35:38 - Obi*Wan: I went for the most accessable bonuses I could. Did not see much hope in The West with the limited territories I had there. The choice to maximize the potential where I had the best opportunity seemed logical.
2020-01-19 07:37:09 - Obi*Wan: My experience last game with holding regional bonuses in The West was that it was difficult. Am hoping the same applies to you.
2020-01-19 07:39:02 - Obi*Wan: Got you down below 40 which was a goal. I preferred to focus on areas where I could get a bonus eventually without having to take neutrals.
2020-01-19 07:40:13 - Obi*Wan: I would not ask you for advice prior to my move being you could lose 50 pts, but any critique afterwards is very welcomed.
2020-01-19 16:22:24 - random21: gg, think this will adjournlessons on this map. think you win. gg
2020-01-19 16:22:38 - random21: if youd like to play other maps, can invite me to usa 2.1 poly quads
2020-01-19 16:24:14 - random21: playing eurasia on these settings just isnt worth it for me. but i encourage you to invite others on this map. there still might be more to learn, but its a fun map to play. i really enjoy it
2020-01-19 16:26:12 - random21: usa settings are fog trench adjacent no spoils poly quad.
2020-01-19 16:26:20 - random21: usa 2.1
2020-01-19 16:26:47 - random21: the only in depth thing about eurasia is in the later levels of a good game. but too many games are first turn knock outs.
2020-01-19 17:58:43 - Obi*Wan: Looks like I missed another attack route.
2020-01-19 17:59:21 - Obi*Wan: USA 2.1 is a huge map, right?
2020-01-19 19:34:23 - random21: yeh. usa 2.1 is bigger than this
2020-01-20 04:51:59 - Obi*Wan: I still have much to learn here
2020-01-20 20:32:20 - random21: well yes. there is methods of how to defend and attack. etc. the major difficulties isnt so much in early game *sometimes you are just way ahead *first turn or way behind. and depending drop
2020-01-20 20:32:44 - random21: sometimes, in rare cases. you get a drop where you have no viable good first turn bonus. sometiems lots of the bonus have a neutrala nd its counterproductive
2020-01-20 20:33:15 - random21: so thats a shame, you got first turn, but cant really exploit anything, then you just have to stop opponent from getting any good bonuses if they can, or soemthing else
2020-01-20 20:33:59 - random21: for the most part though, the end game comes into play with fighting for 2-3 bonuses in vastly different areas, and trying to hold bonuses etc. whereas your opponent might to also try and hold 2-3 bonuses. so the most complex this game will get for exampe
2020-01-20 20:35:20 - random21: is you fighting to hold west europe, kazhakastan, and east india, where as your opponent is trying to hold east siberia, china, and southeast europe
2020-01-20 20:36:09 - random21: all of this with say 10 deploy and the occasional trade in. it pays off to become aware of rolls will likely succeed. i.e. 6 v 2 7 v 3 8 v 4, 10 v 5 are all likely to win
2020-01-20 20:36:54 - random21: the good thing though, is that the map is not complex in many other ways. so you can have fun with the fast beat downs against opponents. and you ll also be defeated quite easily by many. but whats key ist he games that do go long you laern from and enjoy
2020-01-21 00:00:38 - Obi*Wan: I have indeed learned a great deal from you. The disci[pline also to take my time in learning a new map and reconfirm attack and defense routes. Thank you so much. I will not forget yout kindnerss.
2020-01-21 00:08:46 - Obi*Wan: ty & gg
