2014-01-18 16:23:32 - VicFontaine: sorry for the delay. I'm pretty sick.
2014-01-18 17:01:08 - kiwi3: sorry to hear that, flu? a lot of people coming down with it here
2014-01-19 04:36:07 - kiwi3: sorry for delay. waiting to hear from duk
2014-01-19 11:54:01 - kiwi3: so, as you have heard I am not supposed to be in this. I joined and then after I started thinking harder about it I looked into thread and found it was supposed to be Kiwi_NZ
2014-01-19 14:45:55 - VicFontaine: Are you even in this tournament?
2014-01-19 14:47:06 - VicFontaine: I don't think it's the flu. I sat on a plane for 2 hours from Detroit to Atlanta. The guy next to me took a virus as his carry-on. I knew it the second I sat down: I'm going to be sick tomorrow. Yep.
2014-01-19 14:50:05 - kiwi3: well in gazala games. duk accidentally sent me invite and I clicked the join all tab to join all invites.
2014-01-19 14:51:16 - kiwi3: when I looked at header "winners bracket" I thought something is wrong because I'm not doing well enough to be in winners
2014-01-19 14:53:01 - kiwi3: so checked bread and beer thread and checked games bracket and saw that you should be playing KiwiNZ. so I pm'ed duk. This took place yesterday. this week has been a killer for me at work...meetings, after work meetings. One of my kids literally going
2014-01-19 14:54:14 - kiwi3: bonkers (not my own) in the school and getting my classroom torn up by him. so i wasn't thinking at all when I accepted invite.
2014-01-19 14:54:58 - kiwi3: but from dice and your initial drop looks like this one is yours, so that is good.
2014-01-19 14:55:19 - kiwi3: hopefully your other one will be the same.
2014-01-19 15:14:04 - VicFontaine: You're a teacher? Me, too. 7th-12th graders (12-18 year olds).
2014-01-19 15:17:10 - kiwi3: I teach first grade. I have one that is ED. You never know what you are going to get personality-wise. How is teaching older ones?
2014-01-19 15:17:56 - kiwi3: I've thought about getting into jr or highschool due to work demands. I hear teaching middle or highschool you have more
2014-01-19 15:19:55 - kiwi3: planning time. We have none. It is taken up by meetings or during specialists they would like us to teach-we almost had to teach library this year. I am spending almost 12-14 hours at school right now and it is not my first year. My initial degree is in
2014-01-19 15:21:03 - kiwi3: food science and I am certified to teach consumer family science but those jobs are frequently not full-time and I know nothing about sewing.
2014-01-19 15:21:35 - kiwi3: I was surprised that actually passed the praxis test for that one...scary
2014-01-19 15:22:19 - kiwi3: gg
2014-01-19 15:25:58 - kiwi3: also, I saw in your wall you are from the dominion...Virginia? If so, that is where I am from too.
2014-01-20 02:15:03 - VicFontaine: Naw. Jackson, MS. "The Dominion" was in reference to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, of which I'm a huge fan. "Vic Fontaine" is a character from seasons 5-7 of that show as well, and is a man named James Darren (a real guy) who plays as "Vic".
2014-01-20 02:16:04 - VicFontaine: I thought you lived in Britain. I dunno why. But the 7th-12th graders I teach aren't in a regular school and what I teach is a bit unusual. It's 24/7.
2014-01-20 13:51:21 - kiwi3: I like star trek but did watch too many of the deep space ones. interesting about the school situation.. boarding school or virtual or something else?
2014-01-20 15:14:42 - VicFontaine: Something else. You should definitely watch DS9. You can stream it anywhere from Netflix instant. Once you hit season 3, it's an unbelievable story arc that lasts 4 seasons. The first 2 lay the foundation.
2014-01-20 15:19:14 - kiwi3: ok may try. I dont have netflix but keep thinking i"ll try it. movies seemed old so I wasnt very interested when I looked into it.
2014-01-20 15:29:18 - VicFontaine: I love it. Of course, I'm a big sci fi guy and they have much there that keeps me going. Every Star Trek is available, Fringe, Dr. Who, Sherlock, and much much more. Plus, great movies like Hunt for Red October, plenty of classic war movies, even Zulu.
2014-01-20 15:58:10 - kiwi3: i may have to try it. cable bill is astrocious like the cell phone bill. ridiculous that its more than a car payment
2014-01-20 16:07:08 - VicFontaine: agreed. But we don't have car payments :P Dave Ramsey, baby. But yeah, we canceled cable a year ago. Don't regret it at all. If they offered cable a la carte...
2014-01-20 16:25:54 - kiwi3: nice!
2014-01-20 16:27:20 - kiwi3: have 3 of his books but im not good about following everything...should. ive only read one fully but then got the others
2014-01-20 16:29:01 - VicFontaine: gg, sir. Been a pleasure talking to you.
