2013-04-23 00:59:21 - hopalong: i think we four make a great team on this map! i consider us all undefeated.
2013-04-23 00:59:51 - hopalong: care to share some basic tips for this map, once you consider it pretty much over? i considered it over when we started ...
2013-04-23 01:00:08 - hopalong: it would be nice to have some of you insights for the future
2013-04-23 01:00:45 - hopalong: i actually think that we make your life easier by busting through some serious neutrals, while trying to save ourselves or get ahead
2013-04-23 02:48:28 - jgalioto: :-) sure
2013-04-24 04:04:03 - hopalong: thnx
2013-04-24 13:42:20 - hopalong: so ... time for that lesson?
2013-04-24 13:42:37 - Bigragooch: jg and I play this map all the time. It has been our favorite for years. Here are a few thoughts for you ...
2013-04-24 13:42:50 - Bigragooch: First off, it is easier to play when foggy with spoils, but that may be because we know what moves everyone is likely to make.
2013-04-24 13:43:00 - Bigragooch: Since there were no spoils on this map, the mistake Robbie made was bombarding Dutch 1. That opened us up to take him out going through minimal neutrals.
2013-04-24 13:43:08 - Bigragooch: Earlier on, you are usually better off waiting for your opponent to attack you and waste their guys on neutrals.
2013-04-24 13:43:16 - Bigragooch: By about Round 4 or 5 (or 3 with a mixed set), you are better off going on the offensive to get the attacker's advantage.
2013-04-24 13:43:23 - Bigragooch: The team that takes one of the opponent's homelands first almost always wins because there are so much auto drop in this game.
2013-04-24 13:43:53 - Bigragooch: Hope that is helpful :) It was good playing with you guys.
2013-04-24 15:51:12 - hopalong: thnx - greatly appreciated! and so, while waiting for that first move, is it drop n stack one player, or drop each equally?
2013-04-24 15:52:00 - hopalong: and it seems like, particularly in no spoils, it is best for non-european homelands to land grab, and for europe to grab landing point n just wait, right?
2013-04-24 15:53:52 - Bigragooch: stack on one player ... always someone with an Indian homeland
2013-04-24 15:54:44 - Bigragooch: you are right that Indian homelands go for the land grab (4 countries) and Europe just grabs the landing point
2013-04-24 18:07:03 - hopalong: thnx
