2012-09-25 16:00:47 - DaveH: It's in his home country, so he knows his way around!
2012-09-26 03:08:20 - Will Lee: I've only been to Montreal twice-once as a child and the other time I got lost....
2012-09-26 16:34:48 - reptile: did you e\/er find your way home or are you still there?
2012-09-27 16:46:13 - Will Lee: That becomes a rather strange story. I actually found myself on a Polish Ocean Liner which took me to England, where I spent the next six years. But after that I found my way back to Calgary.
2012-09-28 03:35:41 - reptile: interesting
2012-09-28 03:35:51 - reptile: how was the food on the ocean liner?
2012-09-28 06:15:36 - DaveH: Food?! Child gets kidnapped for the UK slave market and you are interested about the food!?!
2012-09-28 06:16:10 - DaveH: Guess you are about to embark on a Polish pleasure cruise though??
2012-09-28 22:31:03 - Will Lee: We're going back to the Iron Curtain days with this story. Poland had no real access to International currency so they were trying to get into the cruise business. Food was plain but well prepared and plentiful.
2012-09-28 22:35:57 - Will Lee: Will Lee [team]: Of rather more interest was the fact that our waiter(steward?) had not been out of Poland before this voyage and had no English at all. Fortunately for our particular table at the first serving, when other passengers were trying to make t
2012-09-28 22:37:46 - Will Lee: themselves understood regarding their order he swore under his breath in German...a language in which I was quite fluent so I was the interpreter for the balance of the trip.
2012-09-28 22:40:32 - Will Lee: Another interesting bit of linguistics happened in Montreal itself. As I said, I got lost but needed accomodations for a night before our sailing. I could see the names of three Holiday Inns at one point and went to the one that the map showed was closest
2012-09-28 22:41:57 - reptile: You left something out at the end
2012-09-28 22:42:35 - Will Lee: to the docks where we were going. When I got there I found it was in the heart of the french section and no one spoke English. We were able to get a room with my broken French but the best part came in the Restaurant later that night.
2012-09-28 22:42:52 - reptile: nm i see you are still typing lol
2012-09-28 22:44:04 - reptile: [team]: Are you just writing from a book you are reading or is this a real story? if its a real story then you should write a book, \/ery interesting so far
2012-09-28 22:44:47 - Will Lee: The restaurant sent for a waiter who could speak English from one of the other Holiday Inns. Interestingly enough, he was an Inca from South America....
2012-09-29 09:34:31 - reptile: is this story to distract our attention away from the battle or is it real?
2012-09-30 08:23:11 - Will Lee: It's the truth. I on't know how I got on it, except that Dave mentioned that I should knoe Montreal because it's in Canada. But it's a couple of thousand kilometers from where I live. It could be that Dave is closer to it than I am.
2012-09-30 18:28:45 - reptile: well, sounds \/ery interesting.
2012-09-30 20:01:18 - DaveH: (it worked, Will - I managed to sneak around their defenses while you distracted them)
2012-10-01 16:14:01 - Will Lee: [team]: I see that, Dave, excellent! But I guess we'll never get to the really interesting parts of the story now.....
2012-10-02 06:48:30 - reptile: please continue....(not you though Da\/e)
