2011-12-03 13:04:50 - AAFitz: gg guys, this one was painful. I think we needed one more turn to send it the other way, and it just never happened
2011-12-03 19:34:39 - firstholliday: every 1 of us had good dice in round 3. Before that you had us. GG well played. With 2 teams this close in strategies dice have to make the difference.
2011-12-04 06:36:56 - sam02: gg all
2011-12-05 12:58:52 - AAFitz: now I get dice. How very typical
2011-12-05 13:00:33 - AAFitz: Oh I fully agree first. We had our strategy set to essentially pop on round 3, after making sure you didnt collect scandinavia, and they just stopped being as good. Before that, we very much were rolling better.
2011-12-05 13:01:40 - AAFitz: On this map, I dont even usually play no cards, because with good teams the dice are almost the only thing that can decide it... with escalating, a team can get creative and it doesnt take much of a mistake even from a good team to blow a significant lead
2011-12-05 13:03:14 - AAFitz: It was a good game though. We had to fight real hard in the beginining and play as defensive because of the settup, and I honestly have no doubt that one more round of good dice, sealed the game for us as opposed to you....assuming reasonable dice after
2011-12-05 18:48:17 - firstholliday: pfeeeew thank Buddha :D
2011-12-05 19:20:35 - laughingcavalier: I disagree fitzy. Not about the dice here where we got lucky in the end & no doubt there is a lot of challenge in escalating
2011-12-05 19:22:29 - laughingcavalier: But it takes skill to win in no spoils - this map is so balanced & so interconnected you have to play the finer points of your strategy well
2011-12-05 19:24:30 - laughingcavalier: We played v different strategies this game, you stacking for big hits & bonuses, us playing for territories
2011-12-05 19:25:54 - laughingcavalier: It's the ability to make & carry through those strategic choices that makes no spoils interesting here
2011-12-05 21:32:22 - firstholliday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Boh4lE1fe0c&NR=1&feature=endscreen
2011-12-05 21:34:20 - larsin: gg, its was a great battle...
2011-12-05 23:01:56 - Big Yuma Ripper: gg guys lol it was fun for a while...
2011-12-06 13:26:04 - AAFitz: you played it differently because you dropped a bounus outright and had another one 90% as well. If we got good dice on that next round, we won. we didnt you won. Use all the words other than those...but it wont change reality.
2011-12-06 13:28:07 - AAFitz: It was a good battle however, and an amazing series of games. If it comes down to a couple rolls on one round to decide the entire thing....so much the better.
2011-12-06 13:30:56 - AAFitz: And make no mistake...had we got good dice on that round, I would absolutely not delude myself into thinking it was all strategy, because the only reason we even got to that stage of having a chance, was because of some pretty good dice.
2011-12-06 13:33:22 - AAFitz: We played defense, because we had no choice and if there werent bonuses to break on round 1...wed have been able to just focus on regions as one would ordinarilly do...and things may very well have played out different.
2011-12-06 13:34:12 - AAFitz: As far as no cards being more strategic than escalating on this map...well....all I can do is laugh cavalierily :) Ive just tested the theory too much dude.
2011-12-06 14:27:10 - firstholliday: he is 44... not a dude. dude
2011-12-06 14:28:56 - firstholliday: ^ ^
2011-12-06 20:57:09 - sam02: great games with you all guys
2011-12-07 13:42:39 - laughingcavalier: thanks firsty - no coffee in bed for you this week
2011-12-07 13:43:58 - laughingcavalier: still think thiis map is way too pretty to hide in fog & give the cards power over the balance of territories
2011-12-07 16:00:54 - firstholliday: still look sexy in your tigerprint boxers laughie
2011-12-08 12:34:32 - AAFitz: im almost 43, so I can call him dude
2011-12-08 12:35:17 - AAFitz: I understand, bu the thing is, if a good team gets the region advantage, they should very much be able to hold the game with the cards...
2011-12-08 12:36:26 - AAFitz: however, a stronger team can use the cards, and undo a weaker position with correct timing and placement which why they make more of a game out of it
2011-12-08 12:37:09 - AAFitz: it is true that a poorly timed 2 pair can wreak havoc, but all the more reason to have to pay attention and play it well.
2011-12-08 12:37:35 - AAFitz: at this point, the games been over for 3 rounds, and you just had to make sure you didnt atttack your teammate....too often
2011-12-08 12:38:13 - AAFitz: I did have the coffee, but when talking about this map, I dont even need it :)
2011-12-08 14:38:50 - firstholliday: eheheh
