I think we should have a tourny with team games where a each country in CC is represented by a team of lets say 3 people, so it will be a trips team game with all the countries.
For an example one game would be U.S.A. vs. China and the winner would play team France or something.
How does that sound?
its a great idea i would love to partake, anymore feedback?

great idea but i think it is happening privatly already aswell. Best option is to get the three best players from each country and make a tourny out iof it. in other words its a great idea

You could also do a (single) tournament, and the top three players from each country move on to the Finals where they face other countries.

only problem i really see is, how to you pick the best?
with countries like USA, canada, G.B., ect. With a ton of players, how do you pick who your triples team is? of course you can do what gilligan suggested and have separate tournaments for each country, but then the problem is you have some (like the countries stated above) that will have plenty of entrents, then you may have others that only have the required 3 or 6 players that may want to join

I would NOT do separate tournaments... There's not really a need. You could probably mesh it all into one.

I agree, but be that as it may my point still stands, what do you do when only 3 people from cuba join and 30 from USA?

Then the 3 people from Cuba can form a team, and assuming the 30 from the USA are already in teams, there can be a single-elimination type thing and the one team left gets the USA spot.

well quite frankly you don't have to be the best. Just like the olympic baseball or basketball teams, the players aren't neccessarily the best in the country, instead they are usually recent college grads or just players from the country who exemplify the country itself.
Whoever has the most patriotism should represent, but they should also be "qualified" and be voted on by other players of that nation.

I was thinking along similar lines with a World tournament but to partly overcome the demographics (i.e. tonnes of US, Canadan and European players) there would be continental rather than national qualifying groups.
The best X teams from each continent move forward to a World competition, with perhaps more players going forward from the popular continents.
The difficulty would still be finding enough players from the lesser-represented continents (e.g. Africa).

I too would like to see something like this done and my solution to the country problem is that you post the tourney idea then each country would assemble their own team. For instance I'm from Canada so I would approach other Canadian players about the tourney then assamble the team. I then submit the team to the creator of the tourney. He keeps track of each team submission. If there is more than one entrance from a country then a play off for the national team would take place. If there is only one entry from a country then it is automatically entered as the national team whether it's a good team or not. eg. Jamaican Bobsled team. A lot of work for the creator but it would be a masterpiece if someone would pull it off. I thinking of giving it a try myself

The way I see something like this happening is to have a national team "coach" for each country, who is voted on by players from that country. That coach would be in charge of putting together a team of players from that country, say something like a pool of up to six players from which he can choose for whatever national team tournaments are put together under the system.
The way I've thought it out, the coach would have a tenure of one year as the head of the national team, during which he must keep a publicly-updated list of who is in his pool of national players. At the end of that year, his countryfolk can vote to fire him -- but this must be based on the team's performance, not personality conflicts elsewhere on the site. If he is fired, new candidates are nominated and voted upon.
Since the whole thing would be in callouts and not include tournament director-sanctioned tournaments, the coach would also be in charge of creating private games for any international tournaments.
I'm thinking something like this could get complicated enough to warrant its own forum, so the creation of an international competition clan would probably be in order.
This system would obviously skew toward the countries with higher populations on the site, but that's kinda the way it is. Sorta like when Luxembourg's national soccer team faces someone like Spain.
What do y'all think?
