EDIT: FORUM/PM ISSUES FIX HAS BEEN APPLIED

Some of us are having issues with PMs and forums

Issues are mostly pages not updating/refreshing as they should and can take many hours to resolve, sometimes a page refresh/reload will fix the issue, but not always.
I am trying to determine if it is a browser issue or a phpbb issue

To assist, can you please complete the poll ONLY if you are having issues.

Not sure if anybody else is having an issue with the Team PM script on TamperMonkey, but I haven't been able to use it for a couple months. I am not sure if it is related to these issues but I would love it if that could get fixed.

These scripts are not managed and not accessible (as far as I know) to anyone in CC management or volunteers to edit. The author of the script hasn't been active for 6 years, so I would guess this one may be lost.

Well, I don't know about that, but I just messaged you about making a new thread/topic and not being able to see it. Was able to send it to someone, but I can't see it in the forum.

------------------I was having a different problem......But not seeing a post right away....It shows up/I can see it a little later...Like an hour or so in The Forum.....My problem was Email related/I would get a message in Central Command...Confirm it is you , go to your Email............This not seeing it...Is a different kind of TECH problem...Could be a browser issue...Like TeeGee is looking into... ... ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)...

Thanks TeeGee. I had a feeling that would be the case. I will post something in the Tools/Suggestions about it...maybe it will stick.

In case it's worth mentioning, these problems are still ongoing and obnoxious lol

I find I have to refresh manually in order to see the latest posts.

PMS at this point are completely unusable, time to make an "email this player" plugin

I think it's time to just pull the plug on this place already. it's like going to the hospital to visit an aging friend or relative lying there in their own feces...a little dignity please, big worm.

I disagree with the llama; I am sure others do, too.

I use Brave on my phone, Opera on my PC, doesn't seem to matter which though.

I also had someone PM me even though I've had them foed for awhile

This is a bug in the "updated" software, we are waiting on phpBB to fix this. Unfortunately we can not.

Has he said anything about whether or not PMS will be fixed or if we should continue to use external communication methods?

Foes are users which will be ignored by default. Posts by these users will not be fully visible. Private messages from foes are still permitted. Please note that you cannot ignore moderators or administrators.

Huh. Always thought that foeing people meant that they can't contact you. Kind of goofy but whatever.

No, nothing new.

You would need to create a PM rule for foes if you want to ignore their PMs.

The use cases I have experienced.

1. On the forum, a new notification for posts, or checking if you have read a thread does not update after viewing that thread or notification (when you would expect the red icon to change to gray in your "your posts" or on the forum views.
2. Similarly, inbox/message notifications - I go to my inbox, click to read a message and later back out to the rest of the site, and there is still a notification and my inbox message icon is red and not gray. Several minutes later it will eventually clear the notification.
3. The same is true of sending or editing a message, it does not show in my outbox for awhile. Edited messages also don't update in the outbox for several minutes, but eventually will, and will be sent with the proper text.

Hopefully this issue is now resolved.
