Congratulations to wrexham who won by just 3 points from ianphull who was just 4 points ahead of Mr. CD!
(There were players who had more wins, but none who had more than 1 win below the next player - and the specification of this tournament was to try and equalise, to some extent, the experience and expertise of players of higher rank by awarding points based upon rank difference (as CC does) rather than straight number of wins. However, with 1 v 1 on a map such as Arms Race! together with starting first, the luck factor has led to large points differences awarded in a few cases that made it very hard for highly ranked players to compete.
For this reason, future pointless tournaments will use the formula "Points won = (8 + (actual points won)*0.60)/20" which has a 60% factor on points difference that increases points below 20 and reduces them above 20. With thanks to Dukasaur and HA for their input on this - I hope you join in the next pointless tournament according to wrexham's map specification!)
If you have a favourite map that has not featured before, then win this tournament and the next Pointless Singles Tournament will be on your map.
1stCatalyst was the winner of the last pointless singles tournament on Age of Realms 3, so this is his favourite:
16 players; 1 v 1 against everyone else. One game sent out each round.
The winner will be the most pointless player. That is, for every win you get, your defeated opponent gets the CC points that you have gained against him.
Puis,c'est très difficile pour moi d'essayé de comprendre la langue de Shakespeare, alors parler moi pas ou parler moi en français, la langue de molière.
Can you be accused of point dumping though? You'd win the tournament if you purposefully lost ever single games wouldn't you? Or is this not a RR tornement?
Please don't invite me to any pickup games. I will decline the invite.

no because if u r losing u r gaining points
gaining points is bad in this tourney if I am reading correct
closest person to zero wins so if u won all your games u would give those points u gained to your opponents and win the tourney at zero
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
Re the comments above, the points from each game go against the loser (just to make it a little different and get the chance to put some silly pictures in the thread).
I like using points in games as it somewhat compensates for the different ranks of competitors.
Unfortunately, with HA in this tournament, we may be playing this map for ever.....
you can take my spot--high ranks have no chance with lower ranks like Etropal--he is very good on arms race but always has a low rank--he can lose 4 games to my two and I would still be losing with this format--that being said he beat me so no excuses on my part

I think this would be better if you put a cap on the losing. For example--the most points you could lose is 25 or 28 Something like that. You start getting up in the 30s when other players are only losing 10-12 and they gain a 75% advantage. Something to think about.
I have to be considered one of the best on this map and I only win at a 66% win rate.
Other maps that you do this for you have to consider 60% as the factor of a good player in a one vs one--that is actually very good. 55% is good.
If you factor those numbers in to make things fair you have to cap it.
Just a thought for the future of this series if you continue it.
Great idea though
