Hey everybody,
I'm still relatively new to CC, but since I joined I have loved to play in tourneys, and I have thought that I should definitely run one myself. Hopefully this will be the first in a long run of tournaments. This will be a fairly simple tournament, since it is my first.
This will be a tournament with 32 players. Each player will select a map and settings as their home map. If you do not sign up with a map and settings you will be given random, escalating, chained, sunny. All games will be standard, auto, sequential.
In the first round players will be put into a group of 4 players using random.org. Each group will play a game on everyone in that groups map and settings. The 2 players from each group with the highest scores will advance to the next round. You receive 4 points for a win, 2 for second, 1 for third, and 0 for last. In the event of a tie, the tied players will play one game on the map and settings of one of the tied players (selected using random.org). The groups will be redrawn using random.org for each successive round.
At the end of the fourth round, whichever player has the most points will be the winner. Points do
not carry over from previous rounds.
In the event of a stalemate, judged to be any game going longer than 30 rounds with very little movement at all, a new game will be started on the same map and settings. In the highly unlikely event that becomes a stalemate, the game will not count and the group will be complete at the end of the other 3 maps.
Freemiums can play, but it would require all 4 open slots.
I reserve the right to make rulings on any and all things related to this tournament that I judge are in the best interest of this tournament. This includes but is not limited to stalemates and friend/foe lists.
