This tournament is about teams playing teams like a competition or a league. The participating teams play the other teams once (round robin format). For the edition we had 18 teams, weāll probably have a few more teams this time. Teams score points with every game won, the team with the most points beat the other team. The team with the most wins over other teams will be the champion. In case of a tie, the team with the most total points scored win. We will play a round every two weeks.Important : If we end up with many more than 20 teams we will play a qualifying round to end up with 16 to 20 teams who will go on to play the main round of this tournament. The format of the qualifying round will be determined by the actual amount of teams signing up. For example: If we end up with 28 teams, we may play a round with 7 groups of 4 teams, which will play each other once (round robin format), with the 3 teams with the best record going through to the main round (in that case we would end up with 21 teams in the main round). The results from the qualifying round would count towards the main round. Other details will be decided when necessary.

show: GAMES and POINTS
Each round consists of 3 singles games (1v1), 4 doubles games, 2 triples games and 1 quad game. For every match won the team gets points. All games are one single game, i.e., best of one. All games will be sequential, chained forts. Other settings will vary. The points will be rewarded as follows, with a total of 21 points per round: Singles matches: 1 point Doubles matches: 2 points Triples matches: 3 points Quad match: 4 points
show: TEAMS and PLAYERS
1.- The teams consist of a minimum of 4, and a maximum of 6 players. All players need to be officers at sign up (i.e. have a score of at least 1600 points = rank of Lieutenant) and premium members. If a team cannot sign up at least 2 officers for any round, that team will not be allowed to play that round. We urge you to sign up with 6 players, because this league may take a while to complete and we all know ranks can go up and down easily. You also have the option to add or replace players during the tournament (see point 3.-). 2.- To sign up as a team, you need to provide me with a team name, team Captain and the other team members. Please include the current score (or rank) of all the team members. Please use this format:Code: Select all Team Name: Player A: [Player]name[/Player] - rank (Team Captain) Player B: [Player]name[/Player] - rank Player C: [Player]name[/Player] - rank Player D: [Player]name[/Player] - rank Player E: [Player]name[/Player] - rank Player F: [Player]name[/Player] - rank
3.- The Team Captain needs to advise me of any changes in the team and wait for my authorization. You cannot let a player sign up for games if he or she is not registered with your team.
show: faq
1.- Is it correct that a team member can only play if he/she is an Officer? Answer: No, that is incorrect. A team member needs to be an Officer at sign-up. If a member later drops rank, he/she can still participate and play. Additional remarks: - A team needs to have a minimum of 2 officers play every round. - It is discouraged to enter non-Officer members in games, that's why a team can have 6 members. - Please try to always have Officers play the singles games. - If a team member gets very low in rank, I may ask the Team Captain not to use or replace the player.2.- Can a Team Captain add/replace team members whenever he/she wants? Answer: No. A Team Captain can only make changes to the team in between rounds. After the game roster for a round is posted, changes are not allowed. Additional remarks: - A Team Captain needs to ask my permission before a change is made. - Any player added to a team must be an Officer. - There is no limit to the amount of changes, however, if I suspect abuse I will not authorize changes. - I reserve the right to authorize any change(s) that help keeping the tournament going smoothly.
show: MAPS
The maps will vary throughout the competition, we will pretty much play each map at least once. The maps (and settings) for all rounds will be posted in the third post of this thread.
show: ROSTER
The rosters show which players are is assigned to the different games. The rosters for all rounds will be posted in the third post of this thread. Example:
show: ASSIGNING PLAYERS
1.- Before every round, the team Captain will have to decide which players will play which games. You can use 4, 5 or 6 players. The same player cannot play more than 1 singles match, 2 doubles matches, 2 triples matches and the quad match. The teams for the two triples matches cannot be the same, there has to be at least one different player in the two games. Rounds will start every other Sunday (every fortnight). I will need the player assignments every Wednesday before the Sunday a new round starts. If I do not have them by that Wednesday, I will use the same roster the team used the previous round. Contrary to the previous editions of this tournament I will not send out PMs asking for player assignments, although I will try and send a reminder. It will be the responsibility of the Team Captains to get them to me on time. After the Wednesday there will be no changes allowed, except in exceptional cases. Note: Getting the player assignments was quite a hassle in the previous editions. The Team Captains can make it easier for me and themselves by giving me their assignments for all rounds up front or by deciding on one standard line-up of players, regardless of maps and settings, to be used every round. 2.- When assigning players the team Captains should send me a pm as shown in this example: (S = singles, D = doubles, T = triples, Q = quad) Code: Select all S1: PlayerA S2: PlayerB S3: PlayerC D1: PlayerA/PlayerB D2: PlayerC/PlayerD D3: PlayerA/PlayerB D4: PlayerC/PlayerD T1: PlayerA/PlayerB/PlayerC T2: PlayerA/PlayerB/PlayerD Q1: PlayerA/PlayerB/PlayerC/PlayerD
Do not post the assignments in this forum, because then your opponent can choose who will play who!
show: JOINING GAMES and RESULTS
1.- Once the games for a round are made I send a pm with the game numbers and password(s). If a game is not joined by all players within 48 hours, I reserve the right to cancel the game and count it as a lost game for the player(s) that did not join it. I usually send an invite as a reminder sometime after 24 hours. 2.- As soon as a game is won, the winner(s) should post the result immediately in this forum. It is going to be hard for me to keep on top of all the games, so please help me out and let me know the results!Added explanation and rule: Every game needs to be joined by the player(s) assigned to the game by the Team Captain. If a game is mistakenly joined by another player, please let me know and I will decide to allow it or make a new game. If a player is replaced by the Team Captain without letting me know, and joins a game, that game will be forfeited and the win and the points go to the opponent(s). The same will apply if a player who is added to a team without my knowledge and permission, and joins a game.
See
ANNOUNCEMENT about joining games.
show: TEAM CAPTAIN AND RESPONSIBILITIES

show: NOTES
1.- I reserve the right to deny entry or disqualify any team that does not comply with the rules stated. 2.- I will ask the team Captain to replace players who demonstrates unsportsmanlike conduct. 3.- I will disqualify a team that repeatedly delays the continuation of the tournament. 4.- I deserve the right to take whatever other measure(s) necessary to ensure that the tournament will be played in a fair, fun and timely manner. 5.- Please let me know if you have any question or suggestions to make this tournament a success.
