Card Generator - How does it work?

So I searched first to find this answer and had no luck....here goes.
I never worried about this before but with the nuclear option it has become a real concern....lol.
HOW does the card generator work? Are there more than one of each territory in a deck? How does it differ say from an 8 person doodle to a 4 person classic?
An example - had Mexico City in a set; turned it in.....played....ended turn......gat same territory card in return. Will this only happen if there are say 8 people and each has 5 cards and there are 45 territories on the board???? Help! I'd like specifics please.......and not guesses....have heard enough of those ;o)

Would like to know it to.
If you play a 4 player standard classic, is it possible that 2 persons get the same card ?
If all the territories are already as cards in people hands, and someone cashes in, do you always get the cards that aren't in somebody's hands ?
Etc.

I want to know as well. I agree, its particularly important with nuclear spoils. If I hold one of my own territory cards in a game, I want to know whether or not my opponent can hold that card as well. Or can I safely amass troops on that territory knowing that I will be the one to decide when its nuked.

Completely random...you can cash a card and receive the same territory again....even in a different colour.
I believe its possible to own 2 of the same card....though i could be wrong.
But to answer your question in classic for example you could have the sydney card...and someone else could have it too

So is it the limit of TWO cards per territory, or could, for example, the lovely random generator decide that every card in the deck is the same on a given turn????? What controls are in place? Do we need to break lack away from his poutine obsession for a few to get the FACTS?

As far as im aware its completely random so in theory its possible.

As far as I am aware, once a card is in play, it can't be picked again. Each card is in the "deck" only once.
Look at it this way: after each player's turn, the "deck" is reshuffled. Which means that any card you turn in is valid to be given out again, but any card that a player actually owns is not valid to be given out.
In 4545 games, I have never gotten two of the same card/spoil at the same time, nor have I ever heard of anyone posting that they did in either the game chat or in the forums. That's not to say it can't happen, but that's enough for to convince me that it doesn't.
I quite often use the strategy of stacking troops on my spoils in nuclear games because they are safe there, and then moving them when I am going to pick up a fifth card or play my spoils next turn. It's the only safe(ish) way to actually stack troops in a nuclear game.

Wrong....quite simply....battle royals...4+ player doodle earth when everyone gets to 5 cards?

I assume at that point it would have to start reusing the cards, but those are circumstances outside of the norms.
I have played many Doodle Earth games. The odds of getting any spoil in a Doodle Earth are 1/18. So, if the cards are totally random, the odds of getting the same spoil twice in a row is also 1/18. Which means your odds of getting the same spoil twice at the same time is 1/324. Which means every 324th game on Doodle Earth
someone should have the same spoil twice in their hand. Even in 8 player games on Doodle where every player has 4 or 5 cards (meaning that there are 32-40 cards in play), I have never had the same card at the same time, nor seen anyone comment on this.
Again, I go simply from the fact that nobody has ever posted it.

I can vouch for that, although I remember it as Greenland instead of Europe (although it may have happened on several occasions).

But IIRC those "europe x3" or "greenland x3" cashes happened on a doodle game... I don't think it has ever happened on a larger map?

It would be impossible for it to happen on any map with more than 40 territories.

I dont think is like that because in a World 2.1 in the 4th or 5th round someone change Somalia and in the next turn another player changed Somalia again...its impossible that there were not spoils left...
