if it wasn't one of the crusades, the ottoman empire wouldn't of killed christian after christian in europe. and the byzantine empire wouldn't of died as quickly. i'm greek so this may be a little biased but it would be constantinople not istanbul which is a really bad name

there was a crusade in which the crusaders were goin to aid the holy land. they ran out of money at venice cause of its doge dandolo. in the end he persuaded them to attack constantinople as a way of payment and conquest. they sacked it through a series of backstabbings and other events and a frankish king was put on the throne. lotsa wealth was taken from the once richest city in possibly the world, and it never came back to power. the end
