Satan undoubtedly has the better music. Also the best houseguests. Heaven, in comparison, must be full of devout biblethumpers. Not to generalise, but...Stopper wrote:I agree.Aegnor wrote:Hell is a ... place where ... songs by Iron Maiden are being played in the background
And - if lucifer was cast out of paradise by god for disobedience, then why is he going to start obeying god now by punishing other sinners? Hell HAS to be an eternity of wonderful, hedonistic sinning - sex, drugs & rock n roll forever. I can't wait.

Agreed - the only sin I won't look forward to in hell is lying, when the hooker doesn't tell me she has crabs.heavycola wrote:Satan undoubtedly has the better music. Also the best houseguests. But that was after you told her it meant something and that you would definitely call her. 1-1.unriggable wrote:Agreed - the only sin I won't look forward to in hell is lying, when the hooker doesn't tell me she has crabs.heavycola wrote:Satan undoubtedly has the better music. Hell is not a land of fire and physical torture. It is a unimagianably cold, frigid place that numbs your soul. Your mind never rests, but is filled with the most trerrible depressing points of your life. Every family death, every pitiful consequence of your sinful ways, every moment of lonliness, in one unending sequence of thought. You hear the voices of your loved ones, alive and dead, condemning you. You feel as if you are in a constant state of drowning that you can't escape. This is your eternal fate.
However, I also believe in a purgatory, a middle ground between haven and hell that takes those undeserving of hell but unfit for heaven. This is probably where the atheists go, for they have commited no big sin, except the firm denial of God. They still may be saved.

Me too. I hate that belief because it makes even the sane godbelievers, like me, look like hypocrites. Frankly, I don't care what other humans think about the eternal fate of others. The only judge of that is God.unriggable wrote:I'm still confused why some godbelievers think that the person who believs in God yet does horrible things (like hitler) will go to heaven while the person who does not believe in God yet does morally correct things while go to hell.

Okay my really way out there theory
Ok this isn't really backed up by anything and I do not hold it as a belief but only offer it as a "what if". Maybe Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory are all the same place.
Think of it like this, Have you ever been to a party where you felt really lonely and out of place. Not that anyone there was being a jerk, you just weren't having a good time. Now imagine that there is no exit. This party goes on forever. If you hold on to the idea that this is the worst party you've ever been to and are determined to be miserable, you are in Hell. If you start out having a bad time, but loosen up after a while, you were in Purgatory. If you walk in with a smile, order a beer, and sit down for a nice chat with your great, great grandfather, you are in Heaven.
The only possible basis I can claim for this is a quote from Lewis "The lights shining from Heaven can be the fires of Hell ". My idea is not what he meant at all, its just another bit of conjecture.

Cool, do you believe in any final destination. Like a Nirvana where you have broken the rebirth cycle?funkeymunkey wrote:I do not believe in Heaven or Hell.
