i think they mean the stereotype about women on the interwebs in general.

but with the rampant growth of the "online culture" in the oughts, it only makes sense that the proportion of "super nerds" to "norms" would gradually level out, even swing the other direction, eventually.

I think it's just that uggo's don't post their pics that much.

Most people, unless affected by strange diseases or severe birth defects, both on internet forum photo threads and in real life, are just pretty... normal-looking. And it seems that normal-looking is attractive to most people.

Yeah, I actually think you're right. Although, maybe pictures are less scrutinized than people in real life. Maybe normal-looking becomes hotter in a picture, due to posing, lighting or catching the person at a good time (i.e. just got a haircut/prepared for a party).

Also, maybe people just throw around "you're hot" easier when on the internet. I don't say to random people I see on the street how good they look, neither do I say it to my friends. (Unless I'm drunk ofcourse.)

my last name is Swedish, so in honor of that, I got loaded on a ferry from Aarhus Denmark to Goteburg Sweden.....went and had a beer ashore there, and got back on the ferry.......my ship was in Denmark for a port visit.. :lol:
