Doesn't look very white to me, and I always though it looked fine. Maybe he'd like the effect of a weathered book, meaning there would be blotches of dirty yellow here and there due to the chemical change. Then it wouldn't be totally white.Evil DIMwit wrote:It's actually slightly less white than white right now. One region name change suggestion
Just an idea
Irakistan to Persia
Irakistan to Persia
Re: One region name change suggestion
No, Irakistan is clevereer and would be something that a young child might confuse, considering all the controversy about it for the last 4 or 5 yearspaulsepp wrote:Just an idea

Irakistan is better. Love the fact that it combines the countries in that area together. Where would he get Persia anyway?paulsepp wrote:Just an idea

Cos the continent is called Europe, but the area there is also sometimes referred to as Europe, so the kid assumes that since this Europe is smaller and is within the continent of Europe, the area Europe is Europe Jr, just like a father and son is Carl and Carl Jr.Wisse wrote:i don't get it why europe jr? europe onion sounded betted
I liked european onion in mty warped sense of humour but the EU is arguably not well publicised enough for the kid to know about it. Eurpoe Jr. however is definily comparable and more realistic (if that's even an appropriate term to use.)Wisse wrote:i don't get it why europe jr? europe onion sounded betted
sorry about bad spelling, FF's spellchecker is borked here.

It sounds better to me too, but it Europe Jr. looks better. It doesn't have to squeeze to fit in.Wisse wrote:i don't get it why europe jr? europe onion sounded betted
I don't think most children would opt to draw in crayon on a weathered book. Either way, it will become very apparent that the paper is not quite white when the map is put on Conquer Club's white background.anamainiacks wrote:Doesn't look very white to me, and I always though it looked fine. (Incidentally, it would be interesting see the fact that the background is white used to make maps of different shapes. Donut World, anyone?)

Yea I know, just don't know any other way to make it less white :S Still looks fine to me though... don't really have a problem with the background.Evil DIMwit wrote:I don't think most children would opt to draw in crayon on a weathered book. Whoa, whoa! Hold the presses! Did anyone else notice that while this ridiculous deliberating over Europe was going on, a map was quenched that had a territory in a continent that had the same name -- Oakland in San Francisco? And how many people complained about that (I'm not checking, but if would be fun to know)?
I do like Europe Jr. better than just plain Europe, though, so I'm not going to change that.
(I find it amusing how Old Europe got named "Jr.", which is pretty much directly Latin for "the younger")

Germany is the right arm and UK the left arm.
back in nineteen-diddely-squat back in the old country during the great war..
quote from wiki:
Abraham J. Simpson, perennially known as "Grampa" Simpson, was born in the "Old Country," most likely Northern England or Scotland, as the son of Orville Simpson and Yuma Hickman. Almost all of own biographical information is supplied by Abe himself, and many of his memories seem wildly inaccurate and often physically or historically impossible, suggesting that Abe is senile. He once referred to Sarah Bernhardt as a former president, and claims to have personally turned cats and dogs against each other.
He claims to have immigrated to the United States with his family. They lived in the Statue of Liberty until they filled the head with garbage and had to move out. He then moved to Albany, New York, where he was supposedly voted "most handsome boy". He claims to have enlisted in the US Army during World War I by lying about his age, as he is a toddler in one war scene.

Well I for one definitely did not learn about that at that age... I think I learnt it at 11, and only because I was doing research for an essay.snufkin wrote:Does the kid know that most northamericans have european roots?The1exile wrote:I liked european onion in mty warped sense of humour but the EU is arguably not well publicised enough for the kid to know about it.Wisse wrote:i don't get it why europe jr? europe onion sounded betted

And I think the Jr thing has been explained already... Senior is technically the continent of Europe, but of course you wouldn't rename that...

I knew about the European Union about 5 or 6 Years ago so 7 or 8 but I suppose it depends I didn't know how American elections worked (i.e. points depending on the state) until 2 years ago but that was only because of the elections
