Why am I not pulling a bonus for owning Massachusetts and New Hampshire?

I should've had the bonus on the opening move, and am getting it now as a part of a 3 colony bonus.

ok. several games i have had NH and Maine and gotten no bonus. they both appear to be colonies and i want to know why they dont qualify.

You must understand that Maine is not a colony on this map. What is currently known as Maine was historically part of the colony of Massachusetts, which on this map consists of Bunker Hill, Cape Cod, Castine, and Massachusetts Bay. The mini-map shows this by putting the word Massachusetts across the southern territories and having a line pointing up to the northern ones. New Hampshire consists of Exeter, Winnipesaukee, and Coos. So to get the bonus for the colonies of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, you must hold all seven territories.

could somebody look here? I hold 2 colonies (Delaware and Massachussets) and it gives me no bonus (2 colonies = 3 armies).

This comes up time and again. Perhaps a minor fix that would help would be to move the "Massachusetts" text on the mini-map off the southern portion and up to the northwest of New Hampshire and use two lines pointing to the two non-contiguous portions. Putting the text on one portion draws too much attention to that portion. Two lines would give the portions equal weight in the mind.
