Yeah, that's what I said a page ago.bbqpenguin wrote:i know we'd all love to throw our favorite random faction in here, but pirates and ninjas are the classic rivalry and i'd like to see it stuck to that. adding vampires and robots and whatever would just clutter it up innecessarily, imo. of course, some people like maps that are really complex....

I'm torn. On the one hand, the random factions could make for great comedy; on the other hand, pirates v ninjas are sacred??

no use in having 10 different factions, all of whom do the same thing...

Re: Pirates vs. Ninjas
Love the idea, but no bloody dwarves and gay elves are out of the question. srsly. Dinosaurs... well, raptors are cool, so... yeah? If there are zombies there have to be vampires, and if there are vampires there need to be werewolves, that's 6 factions already. It's possible to make territories turn neutral, right? So how about putting the zombies in the middle as neutral armies (one unconquerable territory in the very middle of the map + maybe a few more that can be conquered) and every time a player takes their turn one of their territories that borders on neutral armies is turned neutral with, idk, maybe 1-5 armies on it?
Just imagine the situation, enemy players to your left and right and undead zombie hordes approaching.

Why do zombies require vampires and werewolves? I was planning on sticking with just Pirates, Ninjas, Zombies, and Martians - with a one-territory Robot Factory.
Re: Pirates vs. Ninjas
You have the full support of the PNC (Pirate Ninja Clan). You have no need to call us for when we are needed we will be there. Also, if you really need to find us just follow the debris and destruction created by our pillaging and plundering. Excelsior!

Oh yeah, forgot about the Martians.InkL0sed wrote:Why do zombies require vampires and werewolves? I was planning on sticking with just Pirates, Ninjas, Zombies, and Martians - with a one-territory Robot Factory.
And you really can't have one without the others, few things are cooler than undead beating the brains out of each other.
So I take it you like the idea of encroaching [to be determined, I'd like zombies, you say robots] hordes of neutral armies?

It's an option worth exploring. I don't think I understood the details though (and I also think they were impossible). However, have you heard of infected neutrals? It's on Lack's to-do list for an additional option...MeDeFe wrote:Oh yeah, forgot about the Martians.InkL0sed wrote:Why do zombies require vampires and werewolves? Re: Pirates vs. Ninjas
I dont see the point in this map. Whoever started with Ninjas would have a clear advantage.

Re: Pirates vs. Ninjas
Every time a player starts their turn one of their territories that borders on neutral armies turns neutral with between 1 and 5 armies on it. If there's one unattackable neutral territory in the middle of the map you can make sure that there will always be a certain amount of pressure on the players not just from each other but also from the zombie hordes that hunger for brains.InkL0sed wrote:It's an option worth exploring. And I'll check out the infected neutrals.
