I was living in Oz at the time and I remember it. He also introduced the GST ( vat ). Why the Aussies voted for that I'll never know. He also skewed the republic referendum by making it a choice between monarchy and a ridiculous model of republicanism, that is where the president is elected by MPs only. There was another incident when the Govt hired foreign heavies ( ex soldiers ) to break a dock workers strike.
Im surprised hes lasted this long.

White Australia should apologize to aboriginals because we single handedly fucked their entire race and culture, and the shit that is happening in the Northern Territory now with the army being brought into a civilian problem is even more fucked. Election day is always so depressing, I just voted an hour ago. Remember kids, make sure you put Family First last, and if you want the planet to still be around for your kids to grow up on, vote greens. Otherwise, we're all fucked. Democracy is for the apathetic.

Hey you coming here? Cool. I think the not saying sorry by Howard is demeaning. It's as if he is too proud or on too high of a ground to say sorry to them. Saying sorry is building a bridge and trying to accept what happened and move on and try to help and recompense
