He may have shitposted new forum-goers regularly, but he also sent them private PMs to actually offer assistance. The amount of people that think they always understand his interests makes me laugh every time. As for Jdsizzle, I don't think anyone really cares what you say bro.

He chastised me several times in the forum, and never sent any follow up helpful Pm's. But then again no one probably cares what i say either bro.

I cant say what he did with other users but my experience has been the same as mookiemcgee. The only PM I got from him was a copy of his forum post telling me why I was wrong, which was also put on my wall in case I didnt see it in either of the two other places.

If this was my site I would have booted him off. Not because I dislike him (which I dont) but because of the poor attitude to new players or new posters. If he had kept his snarky rebukes for old hands and people that had been around for a while that would be fine.

Worse was when his little gang of trolls backed him up against a newb. A couple of times I challenged him but he is pretty dedicated to his own opinions.

Humiliating people in the forum, even if he subsequently sent a PM with a proper comment, is the wrong way to go about things.
It will be interesting to see if new player retention increases in his absence (not that it's the only factor, far from it, but he definitely put off some newcomers from returning).
Treat everyone with respect and dignity - you never know, they might return it

The main reason I took time away was because of the pig-headed. immature macho behaviour of some. Thankfully, one has gone; one might hope that the voices of reason now prevail, although sadly, some of the dinosaurs remain.
