I once appeared in a musical based on his work too.
For years I thought Tom Jones and Uncle Toms Cabin were the same work. Now, almost in apology to Fielding, I try to point out how good Tom is. I am glad I am not the only one who thinks that. What other books are good?

Joseph Andrews is the best - and at all costs avoid "Shamela".
The musical was based upon "Rape upon Rape", and was called "Lock up your daughters".

he was the magistrate who founded the Bow Street Runners, London's earliest police force.

People blamed him for the great Lisbon earthquake.

I'd like to read "How to Make Friends by Influencing People", the art of forcing someone to be your friend. I can think of quite a few people I'd like to force into being friends with me.

The title can be misleading. It's a good book. If I could have only 1 good thing about that book it would be that it tries to show you how each person is like you, following their beliefs and what they think to be their rights, just like you. Try to walk on their shoes and you'll understand them, and with that understanding you can relate to everyone and accept them, creating better ways of communication, and better relationships.

By the same author, there's even a better book, "How to stop worrying and start living".

*Gillipig followed nietzsche's advice and started walking on other peoples shoes, and behold, all of a sudden people began making their feelings towards him known, and thus he understood them better.*

Thank you for your eminent advice nietzsche!
