Do you plan anything for region prefecture ? You circled them of a color.
I think there is too much airports. Paris, Lyon (or Nice) and Toulouse would be enough in metrople area.
Do we let away New Caledonia, Polynesia and other St Pierre et Miquelon ? Might be too heavy for the map.

Beau travail DJENRE, elle est toute belle cette carte! Je ne serai par contre d'aucune aide pour le gameplay, je n'y connais pas grand chose.
Pour les starting points, pourquoi pas limiter aux régions où ne se trouve pas un aéroport, ça pourrait faire 16, ce qui arrangerait les choses! Mais je suis d'accord avec dragon dor, pourquoi ne pas libérer tous les terr et mettre les points stratégiques (DOM, aéroport, capitales,etc.) en neutre. Enfin je dis ça , je ne sais pas ce que ça peut donner.
En tout cas j'aime bien qu'il y ait les 5 DOM. Mais ajouter tous les TOM ou collectivités territoriales alourdirait bcp je pense... (Nelle calédonie, st pierre et miquelon, polynésie, mais aussi wallis et futuna, st martin, st barth, les TAAF... bref ça ferait bcp!

Anyway... first of all, you need a working draft. This would be a map image that includes all the territories, territory names, borders, impassables, bonus areas, legend with all the rules of the map. Basically, the layout of the map.

I should also add, don't stress the different forums or getting to another forum too much. If you just stop worrying about getting to the next forum and keep on developing your map according to the feedback you get, you will get moved up much faster.

That's what I did, it's already version 4 of the map, and I changed many things about gameplay, according to feedbacks.
Borders, impassables, bonus areas, rules are explained in the thread but are not written on the map yet cause I don't want to do it before I'm sure the people agree with it.
So I'm waiting for a GO about gameplay to make my map nicer and with all legends...

Ok, you're going to need to redraw the land area. It's unclear, hard to see what goes where.

It looks like you just cut a piece from a topographical map and pasted it on your map image.

Try going with simple solid colours for each bonus area. Textures, like topography or land contours, can be added later, but now the main goal is to get a draft that represents the gameplay as clearly as possible.

Try following the mini-tutorial I linked you to in my last post.

Start with a simple image. Ditch the backgrounds and stuff, and just do an image with all the land areas but so that you have drawn those land areas yourself, not copypasted them from some other map.

It's always best to start from the fundamentals.

I know, but you asked me to put legends on my map to understand the gameplay and I did it quickly. I'll redraw everything and I'll take care of making it clearer once I'm sure about the gameplay and main rules.
Don't worry, everything will be much nicer once finished.

I would like to know more now about gameplay.

I know I have to change :

• white zones around France
• Guyane is across Bretagne
• Ile de France is not clear enough
• Airport to redraw
• Change graphics for Régions names
• and many more.......

I don't understand what's going on with the airports at all. in the upper left you state that DOMs can only be attacked by the airports, but then in the lower right you say that Airports only attack the Departement the belong to. Doesn't add up.

Also, I count 7 Airports on the main map, but we only have 5 DOMs and I can't tell which airport attack what DOM - how does that relate?

Finally, I have no clue what's going on up in the upper right with the airports.

What I'm saying is that some amount of graphics work is necessary even before the gameplay workshop.

The thing is, you need to construct your map image in such a way that making changes will be easy. To do this you have to utilize layers. Put everything on it's own layer.

I know it seems like any graphics that are made before gameplay may have to be changed due to gameplay changes, and that you are forced to do extra work. But that's not the case. It may seem like making graphical changes is lots of work, now, but once you get more experience with the graphics software and know your way around it, it will get a lot easier and will go a lot faster.

1)there are 22 starting points (see region bonuses), u have 22 region. I know starting points are not that visible as my map has been resized many times. It will be clearer on next version.
If you want to be sure wich are the starting points, u can see my list of départements, régions & préfectures (spoiler in first post).
2)DOM can only be attacked by their airport. e.g. to reach Martinique, u'll have to conquer an airport in France (Toulouse-Blagnac for example) then conquer Martinique Airport then Martinique to hold the autodeploy in Martinique. And in France, airports can only attack the departement they belong to and be attacked by this departement or any other airport.
3)No there are 8 Airports on the main map (did you count Ile-de-France and Corse?). Any airport can attack any other airport including DOM airports.
4) upper right: you mean the Ile-de-France view? It's a bigger view of Paris region because it didn't fit in the middle of the map.

Simpler is better. You got a lot of colors and pictures in the background that distract the eye. Just one simple graphic is all you need.

I've been reading this book called French Empire. It's mainly about Zidane and Thuram and what happened after France won the Cope in '98. It talks about how all these player weren't "French" per se but they were born or raised and France and learned football in France and how the multinational team united France. Thought it would be cool to incorporate into a map and yours comes close.

So first point, those players, and many many french men and women are french because they're born in France and had one of their parents french. Their parents were 1) born in France or 2) naturalized after they came in France after wars (Many Italian in south of France in the last 1800's) or from French old colonies (North african like algerians).
France has also been for years a welcome land for many people from foreign countries who asked to be naturalized later.

About the map, I have no idea how to include it as it's a geographical map. Also as said on thread, I'm redesigning everything. New one should show soon.
