I'm willing to vote yes on this, but before I vote for it there is one thing I would like to see changed:
For each level of offense you should only get one clean slate, that way (as it was mentioned earlier) you can't goof around, wait for your clean slate, goof around, wait for your clean slate, and so on. You mess up, get a clean slate, but if you mess up again, to bad for you. If we can get this in there (or something with similar effects) you have my vote.
Btw, I understand that some people aren't very mature at some points in their life, so if a chatter mod chooses to make an exception, that's fine with me.

Re: clean slate (poll added)
Wouldn't that remove any incentive for good behavior after that one clean slate? By having the opportunity for more clean slates, there is more incentive toward good behavior.Super Nova wrote:I'm willing to vote yes on this, but before I vote for it there is one thing I would like to see changed:

Or perhaps, rather than wiping the slate clean entirely, rather just a "one step back down" on the punishment scale. Maybe that would be more palatable?

How so? As he said, if they get a complete clean slate, they can just goof off again. Wait a bit, goof off, wait, goof off, etc. If they get one clean slate, they don't have the incentive to be bad because they know they already used their chance.Woodruff wrote:

Because as he himself admitted, some folks are simply at an immature age/stage of their life. Army of GOD comes to mind immediately, for some reason.TheForgivenOne wrote:How so? But as I mentioned, I think a "step back" scenario would be far more workable than a "clean slate" scenario.

I still like this idea of a probation period for minor infractions, why doesn't lack?

Re: clean slate (poll added)
i think some intriguing suggestions are offered here. let's keep the conversation going so perhaps the turtle man will pop his head out to weigh in.
