Re: Simple ASSASSIN Round 1
Round 1 over. Congrats to everyone who survived. It is a dangerous world out there! Goodbye to onceuponatime and venegun, deadbeats have no place in the world of assassins.
truly_tasha and jricart, thank you for playing! I will invite you to future assassin tournaments.
Round 2 is upcoming!
Congrats, you have successfully proven that you have the basic skills to be an assassin! Your plane will land BRAZIL! Brazil's cities are famous for their street level justice and gang activities. This mission will test your ability to work in these settings. You can be a little more obvious here, as long as you can make your escape! Or maybe you will just pay a low level gang member to do your work for you?

Re: Simple ASSASSIN Round 1
Some of you have shown promise on the streets and in the jungles of Brazil. Unfortunately, for many of you, this was not finesse. A lot of you just got lost in the crowd. Even the killers found they had some help.
The next game will be much, much more mental. The map will be 8 Thoughts. An assassin must understand not only the mind of his or her target, but also his own thoughts. Additionally, this map will be foggy. May the smartest assassin win!

ORGANIZER NOTE!
So, I mis-counted, and made the games with one spot too few. MrBang personally contacted me in a timely manner alerting me he couldn't get in.
Since the mistake is on my part, we have too options.
1) Mrbang just gets a lucky freebie and moves through to the next round.
2) We cancel this round (you still have to finish your game) and I re-start Round three with enough games for everyone.
Here is the only thing, if people seriously want option two, you need to tell me before any of the current games reach Round 3!!! I would rather just move him through, keep the tourny running, since in the grand scheme of things I doubt it will matter, but if people are concerned, I will re-make the games. you get one vote, and you need to speak up soon!!!
Major apologies on my part for the mistake.... I am going to practice using my fingers and toes from now on.

Re: Simple ASSASSIN Round 3
Well done killers! Some of you have mastered your own minds, while others have turned soft along the way. Some of you have just been lucky!
Being lucky won't cut it anymore! Now, you need to show your intelligence and resolve. You are being sent to the battle of Waterloo, but the job here is not to wipe the enemy from the field. No, instead, kill the targeted commander, and the rest of the battle should be easy.
Good luck, and beware of the Fog of War.

Looks like all Waterloo games are underway, and no one has told me they were without a spot, so good on all fronts.

Re: Simple ASSASSIN Round 5
Well done assassins!
We now move onto a place with great history that should be well known to all assassins. After all, the best spy network ever known has surely taught some lessons that each of you should learn.
Also, watch out for the nuclear radiation. You wouldn't want it killing the wrong person.
Or would you?

Re: Simple ASSASSIN Round 5
Also just a quick note, from reading last rounds game chat:
Simply assassin means it is a fairly straightforward tournament: Don't be killed, and you move on. Maps are open for all, so some complicated ones might come in, some straightforward ones as well. We might see large maps played with a few players, or small maps played with a lot of players. It is all open.

Hey Mr. Snowman,
already PM-med you some weeks ago that I couldn't get a spot in the ongoing Round as some players joined more than 1 game.
No reaction yet.

Re: Simple ASSASSIN Round 5
Alright, I have taken a look at the games and the errors made.
Here are my findings:
1) 14 people were invited to join Round 5.
2) 4 players joined both games.
3) The PM invite did not contain specific joining instructions.
4) The PM invite did contain a link to the tournament thread.
5) The PM invite also did contain a reference to the number of spots created in each of the games.
6) The previous rounds have all been one game per round.
7) Despite receiving numerous PMs from players left out, and several postings in this thread, none has noticed they joined too many games.
Additionally, assuming players generally joined games all at once, it is apparent that most of the players in the games once did understand the rules.
9) Additionally, many of the PMs received about the issue contained words to the effect of "I cannot join because some players joined too many games."
10) Therefore, it is my conclusion that the rules were understandable to the average player and fully enforceable
JUDGMENT:
Players joined both games are eliminated this round, as per rules page:
Eliminations:
One person will be eliminated from each game.
They will either be the target killed,
Or anyone who kills the wrong target.
Anyone who doesn't join will also be eliminated.
Anyone who joins more than ONE game per round is eliminated.

Well, I guess I am eliminated then, I won this game by killing TODDRICH

Sorry about screwing up. I play many tournament games and I'm usually pretty good about following the instructions, don't know what went wrong here as I've deleted the message to join, but it looks as though some other experienced players made the same mistake.
Really liked the format, hope I can play in your future tourneys.
Sorry

Re: Simple ASSASSIN Round 5
Ok Assassins!
After that little mishap last round, we are back on track.
And to get you back into the swing of things, we are taking a closer look at history. Head back to the times of the feudal lords. Remember, you need to exploit your lands for income to spread your power far and wide, but treat your people too poorly, and you might find you have suddenly lost a territory you thought was safe! Be on the lookout for insurrections, especially those on your border, or worse, at your castle. Then again, perhaps you will kill your target up close in personal, perhaps you will simply bribe his serfs to mutiny.
Or perhaps you will get some help from a bumbling idiot who doesn't know when to leave well enough alone!

Re: Simple ASSASSIN Round 6
Why was i eliminated? I didn't join more than one game per round, i was never the target that was killed nor did i kill the wrong target. Am i overlooking something?
edit: I was booted out in round 5 with 4 other people. Those 4 joined 2 games in round 5 whilst I didn't.
