Everyone by now would have noticed these changes on the site:

• Classic gone weird
• Middle Earth changed to Centerscape
• Dice are now green and have numbers instead of dots
• Attacks are called assaults
• Cards are called Spoils

In any normal case i would understand why these changes have occurred, 'because of possible copyright issues' you say...

But when we have had them the way they were for soooo long, it gets confusing as to why nothing was done before now???

Being sued is no laughing matter. If there were even the hint that it might happen, I'd do the same thing they've done - pull the maps, words, and anything else that is in question, until things are sorted out.

Sure it sucks, but given the number of talented mapmakers around here, I'm sure something new can be created to replace the two maps we've lost. In the meantime, let's play on - there are still 98 other maps that are intact!!

Hate to say if my court room was on the federal and not the state level and this case came before me, it would be impossible to rule in favor for CC. There were way too many similarities. They have changed what was needed and we all know the maps will get better.

I'm new to premium but its a great site for wasting time on, so there isnt a classic map anymore...so the dice look different, meh...who cares, top site and some nice people

Someone said new Classic should be called "World 1.0" and I agree. At last a chance to make both maps coherent

Hello chaps,

well i am not thrilled at the way this was handled: throwing this map at us when the site must have known for some time. If you involve us in the situation we can help and therefore not become the disgruntled enemy.

i am also not filled with bonhomie at being lied to regarding 'Data providers', 'server crashes' and so forth .. this obviously is at the route of that!!


However, let's move forward and take the chance to make 2 beautiful replacement maps. Again please explain why this did not begin before .. (could be copyright issues again i suppose?)

Please communicate with the community better, so we can help get past this mess.
I can not look at the Classic Temporary map, so let's move quick sharp.

And if we can not move quickly then explain to us why not please!

Until I see court documents substantiating claims of litigation with Hasbro as Plaintiff and Conquer Club as defendant, I can't believe that those two had anything to do with this. Just ludicrous. And it's all rumor mongering to suggest they're behind it.

immediate feedback from one of my games - the new "classic " map sucks, big time.
i understand the concept of copyright infringement, but cc has been around a couple of years and now hasbro is flexing their muscles?
isn't there a law saying that if something is left in the public domain for a period of time, it becomes public domain? it isn't like cc is calling the game risk, and a disclaimer has always been present, so why is hasbro squawking now?
are you guys in the process of making a new "classic" map, with some of the territories re-named? hasbro can't claim copyright infringement on the map of the world.
the concept of conquering the world can't be copyrighted, otherwise all your other maps would be in jeopardy.
how soon can we expect a real map instead of connecting the dots?

Youve got to be kidding me. You would think we would have some notice. To be in the middle of several games and have this slop foisted apon us is inexscusable.

Im a big fan of this site and have just found new life playing with several good folks in Cook School.

The map is awful awful awful.
