Re: Israel.... For or Against?
I support Ron Paul. His philosophy is to RESPECT other nations and their own sovereignty by letting them practice it the way they see fit. Israel has plenty of nuclear weapons and one of the top Air Forces around the Middle East (well, theeee Top Air Force in the Middle East, since both the US and Israel have a tendency of wiping out everybody else's air forces). The best way we as Americans can support Israel is to let her practice that sovereignty, not by subsidizing their war machines. By doing that, Israel becomes more and more dependent on the United States and will never have true sovereignty.
And if the United States is such a GREAT ally of Israel, then why do we give more weapons and subsidies to her enemies than to her?
I do not believe we should be subsidizing any foreign government at this time, the simple truth is that we cannot afford to do it anymore. Not only are we going through an energy crisis at the moment, but do you know that in the very near future we are going to be going through a Social Security and Medicare crisis as well? America, from an American standpoint, has to come first; and all other nations must take a back burner in light of our present and imminent problems.
The best way to support Israel is to get out of the Middle East and let her defend herself. With us there, it is just making things worse for them. We should be supporting Israel by having a foreign policy of non-interventionism and peaceful trading practices, and bringing our troops home to protect our borders.
We just cannot afford trying to keep our empire afloat by having all these military bases in over 130 countries all around the world. We got the technology and the military might, let's don't use it to force the rest of the world to think just like us; that is a total discredit to their sovereignty in general, and is an abrupt attack upon their God given liberties.
Let Americans be Americans, Israelis be Israelis, Iraqis be Iraqis--just stop intervening in their affairs and practicing a policy of preemptive warfare! We need to establish peaceful trading relations with all nations again.

Yes, let's respect China's and the Chinese governments sovereignty to control the press and make it only report what they like, their right to occupy what was previously an independent nation, hell, even their right to invade Taiwan and reintegrate it as a part of Greater China. And let's respect Iran's and some other islamic countries' sovereignty and right to execute homosexuals and people who don't agree with the rulers' interpretation of the religion. Let's respect the sovereignty of African countries and allow dictators like Mugabe to stay in power indefinitely and to have people from other tribes massacred if he feels like it.DaGip wrote:I support Ron Paul. You know, that's a really great idea.

(humerous comment, copied below, deleted ... I was mistaken)
My answer is that you really need an "other" in this poll. This is not just a matter of "supporting" or "not supporting" Israel ... any more than discussion of Bush's policies necessitates being "for" or "against" the US as a whole.
Some things they do/have done make sense. Other things are completely wrong. And, the debate is made FAR worse by the tendency of Jews (not just Isrealis) throughout the world to want to reduce this to a simple "for US or against US". (never mind that one CAN be truly "against Israel" as a modern political entity, and NOT be "against Jews" ... or even the evendual return of Jews to Israel, but under different terms).

Re: Israel.... For or Against?
LOL! They already do in their neck of the woods, and as Jay said, so do we. Just go to another country and you will always get biased news reports. Europeans HATE American news, because of how biased it is. You are in communism, it is just draped with a fake respect to some archaic paper document that some of you call the Constitution. Only the American government would call you free and yet tap all your fucking phones and filter all your emails and CC forums through their super hyper computer so they can make a future black list of all the individuals and their families that are going to rise up in the Revolution and kick their sorry asses back to what ever foreign countries they pledge allegiance to! But it ain't to this United States of America.MeDeFe wrote:Yes, let's respect China's and the Chinese governments sovereignty to control the press and make it only report what they like...DaGip wrote:I support Ron Paul. It really depends on the issue. In some things.. sure, support them. In other things.. no way.
They are here to stay, regardless.
