Woohoo! I finally got to see Indiana Jones last night! I won't tell you guys about it 'cause it's hard enough to resist spoilers but just finally getting to go was worth it.

Thought it kinda betrayed the originals a bit, slightly too farfetched.strike wolf wrote:Woohoo! I finally got to see Indiana Jones last night! I won't tell you guys about it 'cause it's hard enough to resist spoilers but just finally getting to go was worth it.

Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
Maybe I tried to keep it as separate from the originals in my mind as possible (prevent myself from expecting too much) so I haven't really thought about it that much, but it was definitely farfetched at times but not so much with the aliens part but with the things Indy did, like the refrigerator bit.johnnyrotten wrote:Thought it kinda betrayed the originals a bit, slightly too farfetched.strike wolf wrote:Woohoo! I liked the action sequences, which were jolly good fun. The rest was incomprehensible nonsense.OK, so you can do anything with CGI. So do something interesting.

Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
Yeah this thread pretty much sucks now.
Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
Spamalot is WAY longer. the thread is not meeting it's expectations as the longest thread, and for those of you who claim it has the POTENTIAL of being the longest thread, I see no potential what so ever.

Did you hear that Tom C asked cinema goers not to reveal the shock ending of "War of the Worlds"? (YOu know, the same as the 1898 book, previous film, and Jeff Wayne album, not to mention the Orson Welles radio broadcast...tzor wrote:I'm still not giving away the ending to "Birth of a Nation."diddle wrote:But surely there must be a time when a films been out long enough to be spoken about without fear of spoilers?

Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
Our power was restored about an hour ago after over twenty-four hours of no air conditioning, cooker, fridge, hot water, etc. Earlier tonight I took the kids out for a meal and to go to the movies. As we got to the cinema. they lsot their power.

It was it was a good ride. Not even close to Raiders but as you said very good action sequences. Would have prefered a better plot but I wouldn't call it complete "incomprehensible nonsense."jonesthecurl wrote:I liked the action sequences, which were jolly good fun. As for his son, I really hope that they don't try to make another sequel starring him. He's not a horrible actor but he's not exactly academy award winning either. And there's no way he could ever pull of the role of the hero in the Indy films. That's something only Harrison can do because of some kind of natural charisma he has that goes beyond acting ability.

Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
Harrison Ford is one of the greats of todays actors. He was the only saving grace of the early Star Wars movies.
Many Hollywood bankables have a single character that they play over and over again. But Ford can be memorable as a whole bunch of guys all easily distinguishable from each other - and that is one of the marks of a great actor.
