what are you a freakin' communist or socialist.
America is a great country. people who are not happy here should feel free to leave.
freakin' liberals.
And, rich porter, you must be talking about the lamont/lieberman show on TV.
not for nothing but, i think i'm sticking with Joe vs a old money rich kid who knows nothing about politics.
live in CT too btw

Hey now, we put up with a D- president for 8 years in the 90's. A C is a welcome change.
We can have a "revolution" of sorts without really having a revolution. If everyone voted for the Independant canidate across the board it would surely send a message to both Republicans and Democrats.

DANCING MUSTARD FOR POOP IN '08!
Anyone buying a t-shirt with Che on it is literally pissing on everything that Che stood for. They are not would-be revolutionaries. They are people who think the t-shirt looks nice.
Heh, I can agree on that too. Knowing what Che did, I'd choose not to wear his T-shirt, he's not exactly a perfect role model. Even if he was, right now I'd choose not to wear it because it's meaningless.
Peaceful protests rarely accomplish anything, especially in recent times. 100,000 or so (about 1/10 of the population of the greater Dublin area) marched in Dublin around the time of the war in Iraq, to demonstrate against the governments allowing the US military to use one of our airports as a stop off and refuelling point. Nothing happened. 5 or so slightly crazed people went to attack US jets with a (normal, treecutting) axe it was all over the papers, and sparked national debate. Both were ignored in the end, but the latter had a far greater effect.
A revolution right now would probably be disasterous anyway, with strong conflicting religious interests trying to influence the country.
It'll be interesting to see what the next American president is like. Aside from some vague memories of Clinton (most of which centre around 1 (somewhat unimportant issue), the only American president I've had any real experience of is Bush. I don't think major change can come through the existing political system however. I guess I'll be better able to judge the need for revolution when I see the next president.
What's that mean, you've firmly aligned yourself with one of the two in the blinding political binary? Congratulations.just wait two more years, and we'll have a crybaby president.......as usual.
I have no idea what you're talking about most of the time... that post included... are you talking about me?not for nothing but, i think i'm sticking with Joe vs a old money rich kid who knows nothing about politics.

Hes talking about Joe Leiberman in the Senate race in Conneticut.
To you revolution types, stop with the melodrama already. This isnt a dictatorship and you arent facing down Hitler so quit acting like youre enduring some terrible hardship. Things are fine even if a bunch of people are all worked up about nothing. So there is a messy war going on, on big deal. Compared to many other wars this one is nothing in terms of lives lost or money spent or any of that. When this period in history is looked back on they'll wonder what the big deal is with all the protests and crap.

A revolution??? no, but a two party system is dumb, look at the U.K, over here anyone can start a new party as long as they have some dough, but no-one takes advantage of that right, it's being hidden by these three:
Labour
Conservatives
Liberal democrats
course why wouldn't they? more paerties means more opposition, and it's not like the opportunity isn't there...

You guys that dont understand the two party system here, let me tell you why its fine. What happens is that those two parties evolve and when a new idea comes along and gets wide enough acceptance one of the two parties co-opts it. So no third party can get a good head of steam going, by the time their platform starts to get wide accptance one one of the big parties snags it.
The sytem works well for stablilty too, we dont have to have negotiations beween parties over control of the government. That sort of system results in minor parties having too much influence. They get a small percentage of the vote but their few seats in the legislative body becomes a swing vote which they can use for a lot of negotiating leverage.

a revolution isnt needed. a good president is needed. i garentee that if we had someonelike FDR or woodrow wilson as president the country would be in a much better spot then it is now. and why are all you europeans posting? you guys had your chance at world politics and got bitched out by your former colonies. maybe 230 years isnt that much time for a country to be around but in that time we have risen to be a world power and kept europe a freen continent so keep your mouth shut.
why would you say up a creek with no paddle? when your up a creek all you have to do is float down.

He has some good ideas though. This statement is partially true; Irish people can stay because Ireland is cool. Other Europeans should let America decide if their country needs a revolution.and why are all you europeans posting? you guys had your chance at world politics and got bitched out by your former colonies. maybe 230 years isnt that much time for a country to be around but in that time we have risen to be a world power and kept europe a freen continent so keep your mouth shut.
Children, this is what happens to hockey players, druggies, and Hillary Clinton.Rope. Tree. Hillary. Some assembly required.

so america has kept europe a "freen" continent has it? so tell me this, what would have happened without the u.k and yes, even the USSR in world war II (which is very obviously what you're talkin about) i'll tell you, nazis take over europe before america comes along, develop better weapons and BOOM! hitlers statue is in front of the white house! (btw i'm not supporting communists i'm just saying that particular country had an effect in wwII) you americans think all our countries wouldn't last a second without you don't you? we're only posting because we'd like to have an opinion!!!

I see many postings stating how "Big Business" is poisoning the American political system. I agree, but you have to include Labor Unions as an equal part of the problem. We don't need a revolution to get our representative to actually "represent" us, we just need to take our VOTE seriously and educate ourselves on the issues Before pulling that lever!
It's time for a Third party made up of members of the other 2 that actually listen to the people and want to Fix problems instead of filibuster them until after the election.
A Revolution in MEXICO would probably help America more!, and Mexico to be sure.
