It's a novel idea, but I don't see ti being used all that often enough to justify the work put into it. Plus I just don't get the logistics behind it. How would it be organized on the Game Create screen? How would they be archived in the Game Finder? All of the games would be created automatically? Then what's to stop random players from joining the latter games in the mini-tournament? How could this be added to "Create-a game" without cluttering up the page anymore? How do we explain this to new users without confusing them? What happens to the players waiting in "limbo" between tournament stages - there WILL be instances of players leaving mid-tournament, and that will cause headache amongst participants. Does the tournament just end? If so, then why create the tournament, because I'd say it's a safe bet to say that players dropping will occur more than 50% of the time.

I mean, if there's support for it and the administration likes it, then go for it. It does seem like an interesting feature that I might use eventually. But honestly, how often are you going to have 4+ people who play the same settings to have all that time free?

Like I said, nifty idea, but too many logistical problems and not good enough of an idea to justify all of the coding that would be required. IMO, of course.

IRT above;

The games are automatically created and the winners placed in the next stages of the game this will impossible to join for others in the later stages.

This entire tournament will probably not take any longer than any random 5 player game (who last 15 rounds). 3x (3 stage) 5 rounds is easily doable in heads up, as well in heads up turns are ended and done waay quicker than in multiplayer so probably will be even quicker! nothing stops us from implenting this :) they will often be used as tournamenting is fun and if ur a good heads up player you can score a lot more pts by winning 3 heads up than you would otherwise (as you get the points from 7 players now instead of 3.)

Hm. I'm still not completely sold on this, but it could be fun. Do we have any official word on this?

Does anyone that this kind of setup is called a bracket all profession sports use this for the playoffs(I am big fan of baseball and basketball and football).

Just look at either of these there are 2 types of brackets. This is what he meant I think. These links though show a lot of teams though he was saying more like this http://www.recsolutions.com/images/sample_bracket.jpg But there are other types like I said like this one with a whole bunch of teams "http://teamrankings.com/img/TeamRankingsBracket.jpg" But anyways I would love this it make this more competitive I think. I will definatly join one of these. I will put up more links or you guys to see what they look like.

This one is a little different in this one 4 teams get a by and automatically go to the next round http://www.ufreeze.net/UFC2brackets.jpg

But anyways hope this clears up what he may be saying to you who dont understand. But I love the idea like I said.
