The stories aren’t hard to find.

Many inner city locations have had problems with lack of access to large supermarkets for years.
This is a common issue especially in low income areas. So these locations, and the people they serve,
are already vulnerable to food shortage problems... regardless of the proximate cause of the shortage.

If you have something between those extremes (newer than 1760 but older than 1974) it might or might not.

One of my retail outlets sold hundreds of pewter figures, that was 1980s so they didnt have lead.
I sold about 60 thousand lead figs a year, they were popular for dungeons and dragons and other roll playing games.

The lead figs were infinitely superior to the pewter figs.

Red, have you been to Virginia City? I wanted to go to Carson City before. Since you incidentally sent me down the Comstock Load Internet rabbit hole, now I want to check out Virginia City even more.

Not sure my wife will ever leave the country again but maybe one day if things don't really unravel.

I went there this summer - bus to Reno then Uber into Vriginia. When it came time to leave a few days later, it was impossible - no bus, no response to requests for Uber or Lyft, generous offers to local drinkers rebuffed, I tried hitchiking but nobody was going in the right direction, cab firms wouldn't take it on either.
I spent two days trying to leave the place, and eventually ended phoning my son who luckily lived about 80 miles away at the time. He's since moved back East. After the first day of trying, all the hotels were booked so I had to sleep in a field.
Oh, and the much-vaunted Mark Twain museum has been shut for a couple of years now.
I recommend the Red Dog saloon for a drink. But be aware that all the eating, drinking, and indeed anything establishments close randomly and it's not always possible to get a beer after 9pm.

Oh, about 35 years ago I caught a bus from Abbotsford with only a credit card. I was heading home after a pretty good trip where I had spent all my cash. The station was closed but the bus took me to the next stop, Hope BC. Upon arrival there sometime after midnight, I was informed Greyhound did not accept credit cards.

I did not panic but was definately concerned while looking for a bank machine in a strange town in the early morning to get a cash advance.

I will try to remember the warning if I run away from home via public transportation and head that way. I'll probably forget until I trap myself. Hopefully I can find some internet and bump this thread.
