he said 6 player games only...tahitiwahini wrote:Red is the best color to be. Isn't that obvious?
Just think, if you're pink or teal in a 4-player game, you have no chance whatsoever of winning.
Unlike Rudolph, red gets to play in all the games.
On a serious note, red and green should have the highest winning percentages followed in order by blue, yellow, teal, and pink, for several reasons:
1) red, green, and blue are the only colors that get to play in 3-player games where each one has a 33% chance of winning the game.
2) red, green, blue, and yellow are the only colors that get to play in 4-player games where each one has a 25% chance of winning the game.
3) red, green, blue, yellow, and teal are the only colors that get to play in 5-player games where each one has a 20% chance of winning the game.
4) pink only gets to play in 6-player games where it only has a 17% chance of winning the game.
5) red, green, blue, and yellow get to play in all the doubles games (four and six player), while teal and pink only get to play in some of them (six player). In a four-player game each team has a 50% chance of winning the game. In a six-player game each team has only a 33% chance of winning the game.
6) If it's a public partner game, more likely than not the person who creates the game has a regular partner so in the majority of cases the red and green players will have played together before, whereas the likelihood of that being the case for the blue and yellow team is less.
7) red should be everyone's favorite color.
The best color to strategically be is......

Re: The best color to strategically be is......
Just wondering is your research with the same 6 players or is it made with a bunch of players. also what is the rank of the players that are playing. To me, to make this accurate you would need players with all the same rank or say atleast sgt or higher.mibi wrote:Green.
Out of 100 games (6 player, classic, standard) here are the win percentages for each color
So you are twice as likely to win if you are green the if you are teal or pink. Why is that? Why are the most effeminate colors the ones with theCode: Select all
Green 23% Blue 20% Yellow 18% Red 17% Teal 11% Pink 10%
disadvantage? Is the color green is disarming to people?
btw, the margin of error is pretty high given the sample is only 100.. but deal with it.
Most of the games I play I only start the games and usually the first 3 players that join are people that I have played against over and over. The last 2 sometimes 3 are people that are new and alot of times deadbeat out. They just want to play the game and do not realize the time in between each turn

I only could find 50 6 player games that Ive played
R-9/50------18%
G-10/50----20%
B-7/50------14%
Y-8/50------16%
T-10/50----20%
P-6/50------12%
I quickly scanned my games after carefully gathering these numbers. I would say that generally the 6th person aka Pink was more frequently a newb or a low ranked cook or cadet. Id say more than half my games where only 2000+ point players and on those games it was more towards the highest ranked player usually won (go figure). I think the lower win % is due to a random newb or crappy player taking that spot thinking he is going to have a chance to play with the big boys... and in every game this sort of thinking was a big fat failure for them.

All right I did some more research on this topic and now I am pretty much done with. Ive played many of games with scott-land who pretty much only plays private games with outstanding top 250 players. I searched his private games and got tired of tracking the totals after almost 300 games (he had more)
You want to know if green truly is the best color?
R--56/293---19%
G--61/293---21%
B--41/293---14%
Y--51/293---17%
T--44/293---15%
P--40/293---14%
Well, I stand by these results. There are the best of the best in these games and green still comes up on top. I did notice that the best players tended to win still (double sword guys would win the captains frequently) but they werent in spots 5 and 6 often enough to offset the color bias. If you have a chance to get in on a game as green it will probably help unless of course you suck in the first place. Sorry, there is no cure for that.
