Re: Your Top Ten TV Shows of All Time
Some of you guys contributions are pretty fucking awful.
I can't really list my shows in order of favourites, because, well for lots of fucking reasons which I can't be bothered explaining to you dullards.
Lost - The first season of lost was Awesome, Absolutely Awesome. Anybody who thinks otherwise should die a painful death. The first season of Lost is what tv shows wish they could be. Just fucking perfect. Unfortunately each subsequent season got weaker, and by the end I was a little meh about it. Anyway, most of my favourite tv shows have got something in common. There is a character who through the course of the shows changes so dramatically, and we get to see that play out. We get to see the little moments, or big ones, which affect that character and change then into who they are.
With Lost there's Jack.

LOST- the greatest show that proves people that watch LOST are indeed questioning their heterosexuality. But that's okay. Heteros deserve to question themselves from time to time...it's healthy, and we need to come to grips with our inner homosexual natures.luns101 wrote:LOST - the greatest show in the history of tv until the final 15 minutesAradhus wrote:

What's atheism got to do with anything? I'm an athiest and I love that Jack basically changes from Mr Science to Mr Faith. It made Jack my favourite character while before it had been Locke(season 1) Sawyer(Season 2) and Ben(season 3).Sniper08 wrote:

I stopped liking LOST when it became evident they were making that shit up as they go and that there'll never be any satisfying answers.
Also, as much as I love the mastermind character, Ben was way overdone.Basically he had to be omniscient to pull some of that shit off.

Re: Your Top Ten TV Shows of All Time
season 2 was the weakest but still better than most seasons on other tv shows. i think it was weakest as they were confined to the hatch for most of it and we didnt learn that much about the island plus i wasnt a fan of the whole tail section people since everyone except bernard just got killed off.Aradhus wrote:

the whole purgitory and spitrital thing at the end of lost put people off as religious stuff in tv isnt usually well received and is viewed by many people as Deus ex machina type finish.
not true they always had a clear plan on how they would end the series i think it was in the 3rd season that they said it would and with the 6th season.Haggis_McMutton wrote:I stopped liking LOST when it became evident they were making that shit up as they go and that there'll never be any satisfying answers.

That only makes them bigger wankers.

Re: Your Top Ten TV Shows of All Time
you cant expect 100% answers in any show that has some mystery behind it. if they had given answers ppl would be complaining about the type of answers aswell. its better to leave it to everyones interpretation of what the island was as that for me was the most important thing we live in an age of armchair critics so there will always be some fools who hate on something no matter how good it is.Haggis_McMutton wrote:So they planned from the beginning to not give any answers?Sniper08 wrote: not true they always had a clear plan on how they would end the series i think it was in the 3rd season that they said it would and with the 6th season.

Re: Your Top Ten TV Shows of All Time
100% ? they probably weren't even 30% answered. And the answers you did get either raised 3 more questions or were on the level of "a wizard did it".Sniper08 wrote:you cant expect 100% answers in any show that has some mystery behind it. if they had given answers ppl would be complaining about the type of answers aswell. its better to leave it to everyones interpretation of what the island was as that for me was the most important thing we live in an age of armchair critics so there will always be some fools who hate on something no matter how good it is.Haggis_McMutton wrote:So they planned from the beginning to not give any answers?Sniper08 wrote: not true they always had a clear plan on how they would end the series i think it was in the 3rd season that they said it would and with the 6th season.

I don't like that
Seriously, for a while I used to write down the questions arising in every episode. There were like 5 unexplained things PER EPISODE.
It was still better than the last 2 seasons of Battlestar Galactica though, I'll give it that.

Re: Your Top Ten TV Shows of All Time
I made do without a top 10 list for a long time already and just though of the top movies for the year, in any random way they would pop out of my head.
And as of late, the last movie that I really liked would still be Inception. Yeah, I know people have long made way out of the whole series but I still like it. There would still be the quarterly reshowing of the movie on my computer.
