A France map more realistic is more than welcome. Departments by themselves ares very classical. Connecting airports and/or ports is a very good idea. one or 2 more region could be created with the DOM TOM and Terre Adelie. but the map might be too big at the end.

i wasnt implying that you should use that particular map, its just that that map was one i quickly found using google that was correct with the numbered districts and stuff. there would be plenty of other maps showing those areas that you could trace

Déjà, une excellente initiative.
Mon opinion est que tant qu'à faire, autant faire une map inhabituelle, avec un gameplay qu'on a pas l'habitude de voir. Donc pas comme l'actuel, avec juste des territoires qui se touchent et qui regroupent des régions et basta.
Pour ça, l'idée des ports et aéroports, c'est pas mal. Mais à mon avis, là, il y en a trop. J'en verrai éventuellement que 3 (ou 4) pour chaque : Dunkerque, Brest et Toulon pour les ports (voire le Havre pour le 4ème), et Paris, Strasbourg et Toulouse pour les aéroports (voire Lyon pour le 4ème). D'ailleurs, je fusionnerai ces éléments à leur préfecture de département plutôt que d'en faire des territoires à part entière. En gros, pour le Finistère, un seul territoire qui fait aussi port donc regroupant Brest et Quimper. ça simplifie sans qu'on perde en gameplay. OK, this is the new map : BAMBOO JACK STYLE
Region can be entered only by their "préfecture" (underlined circles) or by airports (Airports can attack each other).
Préfectures can attack adjacent 'préfectures' or 'départements' in their 'région'.
Airports are in 'préfectures' except for Paris (Roissy-CdG = 95) and Nice (06). Airports can only attack one territory in the 'région' they belong to.
Airports are territories and reset to neutral after playing.
22 starting points in total. Starting points start with 5 troops (Maybe we could set 3 troops with a + 2 autodeploy too)
DOM (5 territs on the side) start neutral and are +3 or +5 autodeploy...(I don't know yet). No more ports.
Bonus will be set later. There will be region bonuses (all territ in the same region = bonus) and colored bonus (hold 'préfectures' of the same color = bonus)

I'm sure we can set in the xml that all players start with same ammount of territs and rest is neutral.
