Once player numbers get low, it may be tricky for players to find opponents online to play - would it be an idea to run for say 2/3 weeks and the player with best win %age in wk 3 is declared winner?

I am seeing a possible issue with three players left. I have been thinking of a fair way to guarantee 5 games each. Extended play weeks may be needed as we get below 5 players for sure. Let me think about this. I am also working with Lindax to come up with one or a few special awards. I really did not anticipate more than 20 players but we have surpassed that in one day of registration.

I have added this rule to accommodate such an issue:

9. To ensure players get to play at least five games when the player count gets low near the end of the tourney-if a player has been unable to entice others to play I will set up one game against each remaining player to get that player above 5 games. For example: Players A-B-C all have 5-6-7 games played receptively and 50% win rates. Player D only was able to get in 2 games and no one will play him/her since they are already advancing. One game will be played against A/D, B/D, C/D--this would occur at the end of the week or as soon as it is known no one will play him/her. If this causes A, B, or C to go under 50% they will be out of the tourney. I believe this is the only fair way to allow every player to get a chance at playing 50%. This is really not an issue in the early rounds, but might be one in the late rounds.

Lindax agreed to the most wins for a GA--this really puts an interesting twist into things. You can play a lot of games and get a lot of wins but you may not advance if you don't have a 50% win rate--I like it. A greater challenge--can someone do both?

Actually it will be very easy with Tour Stats--the biggest thing I need to do is make sure there are plenty of available games--not really too difficult there.

You can play anyone--just five games is the minimum--all different or all the same--does not matter. Good question.

Hey all--thanks for signing up--I will start the tourney this Sunday-since we have 28 signed and I only expected about 20 sign ups I feel we are good to go--that being said registration will continue the whole first week with the requirement that they at least get their 5 games in to have the ability to advance to the next round.

Make sure you read through all the rules and ask me questions if you are unsure of everything. I will send information pm's and add them to the thread to make things as easy as possible to understand-but you can pm me anytime and I will respond to you.

benga requested as as for a General Achievement Medal for this tourney--it has been approved by Lindax. The player that wins the most games in this tourney will win this award. Lots of strategy comes into play since advancing requirement each round is a 50% win rate with a minimum of five games. Should be fun.

I will send a further PM with exact instructions on how to join games and a password sometime on Sunday.

The first week will last 7 days. I anticipate all weeks/rounds being seven days with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas. They may have to be extended, due to family responsibilities, but I will decide that when it comes up.
