December 2014 Challenge: The Automated Passport

I think I know what is going on with the random chance stamp.

After Dec-02, there is no public game started nor won which has awarded ANY star (not only Electric Green) making it clear evidence that inventory stars system for joining/winning games is not working properly at this time.

The only thing what one can get upon joining/winning games after Dec-02 is nothing, or a stamp, but not a star.

Thus, no one can get stamp32 (represented by Electric Green star) by joining/winning games, but can only get it for logging onto CC on the lucky time.

I find it pretty unfair, because the frequency of getting Electric Green star on this way is greatly reduced, as stars for logging onto CC are much rarer than stars gotten for joining/winning games, which are obviously disabled in December.

If someone thinks my claim is not true, can he quote a single game played by him or by anyone else and started after Dec-02 within which any player received any kind of star?

I have been thinking the same but thought it might just be me or that we don't get stars in stamp games. This is why I have started games on non-stamp maps. If it's only available through logging in to CC then I'm screwed - I never win anything like that

I too have not seen any of these so-called random stars, perhaps they will all fall at the same time or they have gone into hiding; regardless I believe there must be the flaw which you speak of.

On that way, we could get random stamp by particular random chance (like you did for the Eastern Hemisphere map) when earning some other stamp (in which case the other stamp would not be earned).

Or, allow the option that we can get BOTH stamps and stars for joining/winning games, so then chance for getting Electric Green star by joining/winning games will at least be possible.

I can see by comments here that at least 5 of 6 top players in this moment (with unknown data for b00060) did not get that random stamp, which is hard to believe (unless there is a flaw) due to the highest joining/winning activity by those who are current leaders.

To add data to the case, from my 50+ public game played during this event there was not ANY player from these games who received the stamp 32 upon joining nor winning the game. And many games were 8-player public game or so, which are usually games with the highest chance of receiving a star.

can someone explain what is a "Guide Game"?

A Guide Game is a special no-points game where new arrivals on the site can request to play against a veteran to help them learn the game. In theory, you should be helping the newbie, but it's not actually mandatory. The important thing is that he gets a game that starts right away so that he gets a taste of how the game works and at least an opportunity to ask questions.

There are two ways to sign up to be a guide. You can sign up for long-term participation in the SoC's Guide Game program: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 4#p4449111 This will get you entered into 24-hour games with the newbies.

The other way is to watch Live Chat for moments when requests for speed Guide Games pop up, such as this:


Speed Guide Games don't require you to sign up for anything in advance. You just watch Global Chat and click the Join link when a Guide Game pops up.

If you can, try to help the newbies and answer their questions, if any. Try to be friendly.

Guide Games are no risk and no points change hands. Contrary to what some shit-disturbers have said in the forums, they cannot be used for farming (since there are no points.) If the game is multiplayer and the newbie deadbeats (which happens way too often, unfortunately) then the game is simply deleted. The veterans who joined aren't forced to play it out.

Will the host a tourney stamp be manual, because I am hosting one that I started in December. Also, any word on when Christmas map will be unlocked or when the details for the stamps to be determined later will be released.

I know everyone is waiting on a reply on the Electric Green Issue. I'm not sure I understand it myself, but there is a chance on game win and on Conquer Gods bestowing. It is the most common stamp given out so far. Thanks to Dukasaur and bigWham, the odds have now gone up; so hopefully you get better luck in the final 2 weeks.

Tie-break clauses

Basically, any batch-released stamp doesn't really apply at the time it was given out. Rather, it can only count at the time it was earned.
e.g. I give a forum post stamp on the 18th but you posted on the 16th. It counts as being earned on the 16th.

Stamp32 and stamp04 do not count in the tie-breaking.
e.g. player x has 31 stamps on Dec 29 but doesn't get stamp32 until Dec 31. Dec 29 is treated as the completion date.

As a final note; thanks to playing along everyone. This is definitely the most successful event I have run yet; and I am glad to see all the work is paying off.
