Re: Showing ID to Vote
Last time, the right bitched about voter fraud (e.g. ACORN).
This time, the left bitches about voter suppression.
When will the cycle of political regurgitation end?

Until then, we will have to settle for new radical notions like showing ID when we need to prove who we are

Re: Showing ID to Vote
Looks like our George Soros owned Secretary of State has broken the law trying to fight against voter ID. It should be noted that about a year ago, one of his own staffers committed voter fraud in Iowa in 2010, and then they got caught. Soon after, the same person stole the identity of his boss's opponent and committed a felony in Iowa to try to get their opponent thrown off the ballot (exactly the same as Obama did in every state senate election he ever won), but he got caught again.
You can see the problems all this has caused us. Come November, we are going to fix it. And I will consider myself amongst the happiest of men when they throw Mark Rithcie's ass in jail for his continued illegal meddling in the affairs of voter ID and traditional marriage. Consider this a major blow to George Soros, moveon.org, media matters, and the Progressive anti-Liberty movement in general. And I'm sure the other 17 secretary's of state Soros owns across the USA are going to turn up the speed on their illegal and anti-democratic operations.

His having broken the law to fight Voter ID doesn't in any way validate the arguments for Voter ID, you realize...right?Phatscotty wrote:Looks like our George Soros owned Secretary of State has broken the law trying to fight against voter ID. Re: Showing ID to Vote
Why are Republicans so wrapped up about Voter ID when voter registration problems are far more prevalent?

... I agree that registration shenanigans are a terrible problem, but they are much more difficult to specifically define and to fix.

Re: Showing ID to Vote
Soros endorsed Mark Ritchie is going to jail! It looks like if we pass this, it will bring Soros's plans to a halt!
Re: Showing ID to Vote
Weird, right? Given that the major example of voter fraud during this campaign is Republican.Nobunaga wrote:... It does nothing at all to correct the huge problems that exist with the system. It's like putting a bandaid on the arm that was just amputated.Nobunaga wrote:... They're really NOT though. I mean...it's fairly clear what is illegal and what is not illegal in these situations.Nobunaga wrote:... I agree that registration shenanigans are a terrible problem, but they are much more difficult to specifically define and to fix.

Re: Showing ID to Vote
Why is it you feel the need to bring up Soros' name twice here? It's funny how fearful you guys are of Soros, but you think the Koch brothers are just dandy.Phatscotty wrote:Soros endorsed Mark Ritchie is going to jail! It looks like if we pass this, it will bring Soros's plans to a halt!![]()

Maybe they confused Koch with Coke? Maybe Soros is Pepsi. I am not sure who is Dr Pepper.

With such a low voter turn out in America [with NO REAL VOTER FRAUD] why do Republicans feel it's better to make voting harder? Hmmm, it's apparent that those without photo-IDs would likely be those in the lower income bracket.
.....meanwhile Republicans want to make it easier for everyone to walk around in public with concealed weapons.

Piss poor comparison. If you want to walk around in public with a concealed weapon, You Must Have Proper Identificaton.GBU56 wrote:

It's not a piss poor comparison buddy. Voting should be made easy and not a burden for ordinary citizens.

A "burden"?
That's why nobody takes you seriously. That's why this issue will be passed all over this great land. That's why lefties taking ridiculous positions is going to cost Obama the election and give America a Tea Party super majority in Congress.
Cheers
Re: Showing ID to Vote
I absolutely agree with you that voting should be made easy and not a burden for ordinary citizens. But I also agree with him that your example is a poor one, given that the things they're asking for regarding voting are already required for concealed carry.GBU56 wrote:Says who? You? The irony is strong with this one.Phatscotty wrote:That's why nobody takes you seriously.
With your past history of backing losers combined with how this election appears to be playing out, you really should tone down the predictions to "only going to be significantly embarrassing when proven wrong yet again".Phatscotty wrote:That's why this issue will be passed all over this great land. Re: Showing ID to Vote
... If you go to the government website of many states, and look up how, and what it takes to get an ID... nobody has any excuse to bitch about not having one.
... So simple, monkeys could do it... at least in what I've looked at thus far - Texas, Florida, Ohio, Arizona and Connecticut.
... What, exactly, is preventing people from getting them? I going to need specific answers, because unless we're discussing complete idiots, or perhaps the dead, I can't see how it would present any difficulty.

and we are giving the ID to those people FREE. I think that takes care of the extreme burden of requiring any responsibility whatsoever for citizen participation.Nobunaga wrote:... The scoreboard is crystal clear
Getting an ID is not a burden.
Making $1,400 a week and only taking home $990 is a fucking BURDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
