Re: Football (real)
Dont worry, even if we do get beat at eastlands, at least come may we will be in the top 4, with a magnificent stadium with the best facilities in the world. You will be at your council house stadium!
Manure have an easy game first day of the season again, whereas we have everton! The fixtures obvious WERE made and emailed by sir Alex.

Re: Football (real)
where is L&M with his glorious news that Manure has signed Michael Owen.
Sell Christiano Ronaldo and let Carlos Tevez go. bring in Valencia and Michael Owen. which pair would you rather have?
don't get me wrong IF Owen stays fit, he'll score them goals. but it's a big IF.

In your opinion, was that a goal ??

20 million Russians died at the hands of the Germans. That linesman was well within his rights to be slightly biased
Re: Football (real)
Of course not.
England are a bunch of cheats who paid the linesman. (okay I lied there)

Football, to me, has become not about football it is all about the money now, don't get me wrong i love football, i love the game, i love [playing and watching it but 80mil for one player, albeit a good one, is a bit erm.. silly, i can remeber an interview a little while back with Brian Clough
Brian, do you think if you took over as manager of forest today you will be able to return them to glory?
No never, there would be no freedom in the transfer market and all the cahirmen expect is results, it would be almost impossible
Or something along the lines of that (probably with more swearing)
one lasty note... C'mon you Harrogate Town!!!

Re: Football (real)
From the Manchester Evening News............Looks like I've still got a club to support
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SALE rugby boss Brian Kennedy saved Stockport County from extinction yesterday.
The Edgeley Park entrepreneur and chairman of Cheshire Sport, the company that owns Sale Sharks, agreed to write off all but £38,000 of the £3.8m that he is owed by the struggling soccer club that shares the ground with the rugby giants.
The lifeline took County out of administration and into the waiting arms of a consortium put together by former City and Leicester ace Jim Melrose.
Macclesfield-based Melrose had agreed a deal with administrators Leonard Curtis to buy the cash-strapped club providing 75 per cent of the club's creditors voted in favour of a Company Voluntary Agreement at yesterday's meeting.
With the percentage based on the value of debt and not the total number of creditors, Kennedy effectively had the deciding vote.
And, with him and others voting yes to the agreement in an 82 per cent thumbs up - the club will now move out of administration.
The creditors will receive just 1p for every £1 they are owed, with football creditors and a couple of preferred firms like a finance company with a secured loan against the club being exceptions.
There is a 28-day appeal process in the agreement but assuming that no one appeals the decision, the Football League will then rubber-stamp the deal.
With a CVA in place, Stockport will come out of administration with a clean bill of health as far as the Football League is concerned and therefore no points will be deducted for the forthcoming League One campaign.
If the creditors had voted against the deal, Stockport would have started on at least minus 15 points.
The creditors had previously stated that as they did not expect anyone to buy the club with such a handicap - they would have no option but to liquidate the club and end Stockport's 125-year existence.
Former County chairman Martin Reid said: "The yes vote was great news for the club, for the fans and for the town as a whole.
"We have to be grateful to Brian Kennedy. What he has done is vital for the future of the club.
"I just hope that the club hasn't been too badly damaged and that under the Jim Melrose consortium the club can now move onwards and upwards."
Phil Collister, who was one of just two of the 500 listed shareholders to attend a meeting with the administrators after the agreement had been confirmed, said: "I'm a County fan so I'm obviously glad that the club is going to continue.
"The creditors have done the right thing. Otherwise, there would have been no club. We can all start again now.
"I don't know much about Jim Melrose other than when he was a player. I just hope that he's got a few bob because he is going to need it to get this club off the ground again."
Managerless Stockport, who were owned by a supporters' trust, went into administration in April.
Manager Jim Gannon was later made redundant as part of a series of cost-cutting measures and has since taken over the reins at Motherwell.

If they did go tits up, I would be a Liverpool fan. Or quite possibly Bristol Rovers.
Having said that, I would be much more inclined to follow rugby union (Worcester Warriors) and cricket (Worcestershire).

How ridonkulous is this? We are stuck buying Fortune for a few mill and Man City (a much smaller and less succesful club) can buy Tevez for tens of millions.

Also, the article on bbc news sport on arsenals debt is hilarious, talking about out 200m debt which is decreasing by about 40m a year, when they forget man utd and chelsea's 600m debt and liverpools... 300-100m.

Still, We'll finish above City (Natch) and Arsenal (95% cert) just Chelsea and 'pool to worry about...
Bring the season on, I hate these long footy-less summers, at least we've the world cup to be interested in (up to the quarters anyway) next year
