Yeah - borders and text is clearer - but perhaps a bit too dark!

Tried something a little different to arrive at the preferred middle ground shade. I had the technology to make it stronger, better faster...

Same question really. Clearer? Better shade?

Yes yes & yes.
Small query - the text in the small appears to be ever so slightly less crisp than the large?!
Is that something you could remedy?

Hmmmm, I can darken the text a bit in the small map, but it doesn't make it much crisper, just...well....darker. This is just one of those things when fonts go small, unfortunately. I'd be happy to make it darker in the small version if you'd like though.yeti_c wrote:Yes yes & yes.

This is the small with darkened fonts. Does it help?yeti_c wrote:Yes yes & yes.

Kewl. Thanks, yeti. Officially moved the darkened fonts small version over as the small version on page 1.yeti_c wrote:Yes - I think that helps.

Oaktown, did the colouring and moving of names off borders fix your queries?
gdeangel, after the shading/colouring change is the pass more visible for you?
Anyone else, any other queries/suggestions/requests?
Re: Romania [I] - v15 - pg 1/11 Graphics Update
The continent names are a little too light, especially considering the script font. I'd suggest darkening those as well, if not outright changing the font.
Also, I don't like the paper creases, they just don't fit with the map for me.
Good work so far, though!

The Bucharest Star could do with a bit of work too.

Disagree with that - the creases are superb.TaCktiX wrote:Also, I don't like the paper creases, they just don't fit with the map for me.

i have no problem reading the map but i do have really good eyes
but i agree the continent names could be darker (not too much because you don't want them obstructing borders) and that the star should be more visible (and perhaps name the star as DiM's home cause that's where i am)
one other problem might be with the mountains in the brasov pass area. now i can see clearly that brasov only connects to buzau but other people may think it also connects to prahova. perhaps fiddling with the borders there and moving the mountain a bit could solve this
PS: keep the creases they are great

Re: Romania [I] - v16 - pg 1/11
By popular demand I have:
- Used a differently shaped mountain at Prahova as well as altered the border. This will hopefully make the pass clearer?
I darkened the continent names somewhat.
I darkened the Bucharest star.
The consensus seems to be to keep the creases....and I like them. So they'll stay for now.

Is everybody happy with the gameplay as it is now? Including the changed border to make the central pass clearer?

I have a couple minor points for this fantastc piece of art. You really have done a good job on this mate and your foundry conduct is probably one of the best I have seen in a while, anyway down to business:
1. Dedreaga and the black sea typography sort of merge together as one large continent name. I recognise the difference between them but their are many out there who will get confused by the similarity of them. Could you please consider a change that will differentiate between the two words.
2. Arges and teleorman (to me) to like they are different colours from the rest of the continent. I have already mistaken those two territories as their own continent and I am assuming many more may very well make the same mistake.
Nothing to major from me today. Keep up the good effort mate.

1) Consider removing or making "Black Sea" a lot smaller.
2) Not sure I see that - looks clearly like part of Muntenia to me!?

I'll do something about that. Not sure quite what yet but will take a look at how I can change it.gimil wrote:1. I don't really see the difference myself, but I can see if I twitch the colour there slightly.gimil wrote:2. And on the latest episode of the young and the Romanian:
Mucked about with the Black Sea wording to ensure non-mixing with Dobrogea.
Very mild playing with the colouring on Teleorman and Arges.
Translated Black Sea
Fixed a layering/spelling thingy with Moldova

Re: Romania [I] - v16.5 - pg 1/12 More Tweaks
teleorman and arges weren't an issue for me as their colour was fine.
but i like the improvement on the black sea region.
and this reminds me of another spelling issue.
black sea should be: Marea Neagră ...
...just for the sake of keeping everything consistently written in romanian
PS: you also still haven't changed Moldovia to Moldova

Did you put the accent in over the 'a' of black sea?

Seems that I am the only one who sees the issue for Arges and teleorman, I suppose it isn't that much of an issue

Sorry gimil, I did make a small change that I though might make the colour better for you but I can't really tell at all. Maybe an eye test?gimil wrote:Seems that I am the only one who sees the issue for Arges and teleorman, I suppose it isn't that much of an issue
