Strangely, though, from what I've seen on television the last month or so, our future president, along with a few other potentials, attack each others beliefs and even their moral character constantly.

First of all, you started a topic on this forum that was called "There is no god..." I think that's considered imposing of others.

Secondly, I'm not defending just religion, that's just the medium that I'm using. I'm defending people's right to make their own descisions with out being attacked for it. The examples of choices you made don't reflect the vast majority of religious followers. Most religions in this world speak of peace and kindness towards their fellow man. Yes there are some pshycopathic madmen out there who twist religion to suit their own agenda, but that's not a reason to attack every other religious person. Most people who follow a religion that I know are wonderful people, and I respect them for that. As should you and everyone else.

Did you read the thread? I was being facetious. It had nothing to do with god. But I was aware of the possibility of insult toward theists and ignored it, for my reasoning above. I won't deny the right to make one's own decision (although I seriously question how many people's religion was a decisioin), but I disagree with your perspective on attacking people's decisions. Like I said, some decisions are bad, or wrong. If I make a wrong move, I want people to tell me. People have given arguments for religion, and I have yet to find one that cuts it for me. They all seem hollow. And I will tell them that. I'm not going to baby anyone. Unless of course, they are babies. In which case, you know...

Most people I know are religious, if I didn't respect them, I wouldn't have very many friends, for sure. But because I have respect for them, by no means implies I have respect for their opinions. Most of my friends know this, and get along just fine. Hell, they think I'm just as wrong as I think they are. I think the problem with posting on a forum is that it's difficult to express the tone of a statement. I've never gotten into a heated theological discussion face to face.

A universe with a God would look quite different from a universe without one. A physics, a biology where there is a God is bound to look different. So the most basic claims of religion are scientific. Religion is a scientific theory.

This is true. If you have religious beliefs, this is equally as true because you must accept that there is a HUGE difference between the idea of a godless universe and a universe with a god.

It's a scientifically testable theory of God. Maybe not that feasible, but you could do it.

The reality is that there is EXACTLY the same amount of evidence for God's existence as there is for fairies, giants, cyclopses, unicorns or whatever.

So given that there's plenty of evidence to prove 95% of the old testament as fallacious and none to support it, I choose to disregard the other 5%. As do many others.

As before, my case to prove this lies in the aforementioned etext. I'm not going to go through it for you, I'm not *that* well versed in evolutionary science to be able to provide you with all the answers. I'm sure there are plenty of evolutionary scientists that are but nowadays refuse to debate with creationists as it's like debating with scientologists - utterly pointless.
