ok, ya if you think newbie games are hard for experienced players, it is even harder for us newbs. My first few games, not PMC's other newb game, I just followed experienced players. I have no one to follow now.

Re: Vampire Mafia for begginers- Day 1.
This isn't really my convo but that's why you are finding it hard. You have to try to think for yourself, every post someone makes you must think are they lying? Why is that person saying that? Do I believe them? And eventually you will become good, you don't have to be right every time jsut as long as you have an opinion and believe in yourself. In my first game I hounded SL believeing him to be scum for a silly reason, I was wrong but I learnt from it. I read that thread a million times, and to this day it is my most posted in thread. My top tip for anyone new is to constantly scum hunt, or if your scum to constantly try to find out who is third party or who is a town power role and also concentrate on surviving. IT doesn't matter if you are wrong just that you try, trust me it's a lot funner than being dragged along for the ride.captainwalrus wrote:ok, ya if you think newbie games are hard for experienced players, it is even harder for us newbs. p.s. don't let experienced players bully you either, just cause they say something is scummy doesn't mean it is, they could be mafia for all you know or it could just be a difference of opinions.

Re: Vampire Mafia for begginers- Day 1.
Eh. It could be possible that Masterchief is just a massive submariner, and might have a hand in the scum (or they just don't understand their role and so have not posted, in which case they should PM the mod). I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt.
And there aren't any real solid arguments. Of course, this happens [most] day 1's. Except, just scrolling down, I see this.
Once again, e_i_pi, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt. I haven't played a game for what seems like a millennia, so I'm not great at picking up anything. I dono who to vote for.
I'll look through the thread again later to see if I can come up with a solid argument and hope for the best.
P.S. I'm not here for the rest of the day, so I have to use my phone to access CC, so if I post again and not make a great post, it's because I'm worried it won't post like in some cases.

Now. Day one is the day for random votes. That's because we don't have much to debate about, or investigate, or anything. The only thing that makes Day 1 fired up is if a random kill comes in the middle of the day (which rarely, or never, happens), or if someone goes "I don't understand my role, if I'm scum or town". Night phase would get things fired up, as I'm guessing this is NV (non-vanilla), and so actions would be orgy. However, this does also lead to a death, or numerous deaths (depending if there are numerous serial killers, vigs, and other killing/defensive (PGO, paranoid gun owner) roles). I'm guessing there is at least a SK and a vig. Maybe even a cult (which has been hinted at in this game already).e_i_pi wrote:There's a lot of random votes going on, no bandwagoning, and very little investigative talk. Oh, and stokem, your aggressiveness against other players is pretty much unwarranted (unless you feel that, with your role that you have, you have to be). Some examples.
A classic newb. However, you have Mr. Squirrel protecting you and saying;
FOS strokem, vote Mr. Squirrel. I'm only fosing strokem because he is the more inexperienced one. Squirrel could do more damage in the long run, as he has played numerous games.
strokem1257 wrote:I am not accusing anyone of being scum. All I ever did was point out the same things you seem to be trying to pin on me. Just three examples cause I'm too lazy to find more. However, as I read back over your posts (Strokem), I found that you're flipping out all over the place. You vote, then unvote a post later. You take an aggressive stance and then say that not voting is counter productive (which it isn't, at the time, because we have no idea where to go). You don't like bandwagons, but then you join one.strokem1257 wrote:I agree... I think he has only posted like twice... good enough for me. A classic newb. However, you have Mr. Squirrel protecting you and saying;
A really confused townie, yes, but I don't see why that should be warranted to said. We all know strokem is confused, but whether he's a townie or not, is to be seen. And now I'm going to confuse things even more by accusing Mr. Squirrel.Mr. Squirrel wrote:unvote. Right now I see Strokem as just a really confused townie. My original accusation had almost no basis and was made only to break the chain of joke-votes and get some real discussion going.
Trying to shift away from a cult? A newb game can be like any other game, it just has newbies in it. Crazy roles can happen, same as cults and everything else. Your slight, and not-so-obvious protection of strokem leads me to believe that you two are masons, cult, or scum. I'm going for the two latter. With the early day attacking each other, it makes it seem like you two are just trying to force observations away from you. I'm sure I made a post already about how you two were trying to shift suspicions away from each other. My post, here.Mr. Squirrel wrote:I agree. While vamps in fiction would function like a cult, I don't think pmc would go that crazy with the roles in a newbie game.cena-rules wrote:As this is a game for beginners I dont think that there will be a cult/PR on the vampires side

And that's it for me until tomorrow. Good day. I'll be submarining but not posting, because as I said before.
So I'll be watching how you counter my accusation.P.S. I'm not here for the rest of the day, so I have to use my phone to access CC, so if I post again and not make a great post, it's because I'm worried it won't post like in some cases.

Well, I'm not putting a vote forward right now, there's very little to go on, and with 8-9 pages of chatter, we haven't uncovered much. Not much that's stuck anyhow. I just think if night comes around we might get a bit better idea of who's who.Mr. Squirrel wrote:Are you asking for a no lynch?e_i_pi wrote:There's a lot of random votes going on, no bandwagoning, and very little investigative talk. Mr. Squirrel's reply will probably influence my vote, so I'll stick to a FOS Squirrel for now.
I made my vote on him originally because I wanted to get some discussion going. I have noticed in all of my other games that joke votes go around for three pages or so before someone makes some wild accusation and then the game takes off. I figured that calling stroke scum might lure in some discussion of either people attacking me, or people speculating on stroke's scumminess. Either way, there would be discussion and that, ultimately, is what we needed in this game. Unfortunately no one did much of anything with it and it ended up fizzling out until now.Skittles! wrote:A really confused townie, yes, but I don't see why that should be warranted to said. We all know strokem is confused, but whether he's a townie or not, is to be seen. And now I'm going to confuse things even more by accusing Mr. Squirrel.
I called him a confused townie later because that is honestly what I thought at the time. He seemed a bit over eager, but he didn't make any real scumtells so why would I think him to be scum?
Doesn't cult normally start with just one member, their leader? If so, how could we both be cult already? I am not really defending him either. I just said that I had no real reason to think he was scum and left it at that.Skittles! wrote:Trying to shift away from a cult? A newb game can be like any other game, it just has newbies in it. However, after you so kindly compiled all of stroke's posts in one place I can see why you think he might be scum. And I agree he has looked scummy. I'll give him the newbie benefit of the doubt though and just say he was still trying to understand the game. Now that he has a handful of RTs under his belt though, I'll probably be more condemning in the future.
You guys will probably keep chasing me no matter what I say simply because we have no other targets as of yet. Bring on the criticism.MeDeFe wrote:ok, I'm waiting for Strokem's and Squirrel's replies.

Squirrl does seem to try to manipulate people, but chasing squirlls often ends bad. I will Vote Stokem for the reasons skittles said, but also because since then, he has not really said much to cofront it. A Townie, IMO would face an accusition head on, especialy if it is only a FOS and the accuser voted someone else, since that other person is first on the chopping block, and the Townie is not afraid of the cop investigating them that night, so they can afford to stay in the foreground of the descussion. Also, remember when I reilized I was sort of acting scummy by posting enough to not be lurking, but posting nothing of sustinance? He is doing exactly that.
He seems a bit like a newbie scum trying to figure out how to avoid the suspicion.
